After selling bike #6 in the past 6 years last summer I figured that the dualsport novelty had worn out in my life. Then this past fall I was riding my fancy carbon fiber road bicycle up a long steep climb on the Blue Ridge Parkway when I saw a rider pulled over on a nice blue S10.
As much as I 've loved road cycling for over 40 years nothing seems to fill the adventure gap in my life as a cool dualsport and a roadmap to somewhere.
Last week I put down a deposit on a new 2012 S10. I bought the bike for $2k under MSRP and got all the accessories for about a third off retail. All in all I will have less $ in my S10 than what I sold my 09 BMW GSA loaded for ( and although I liked the GSA I won't have the mechanical barrel that BMW had me over)
I already have my Alaska summer trip planned as well as a couple of short trips with old BMW friends. I'm in Greensboro NC and semi retired and also about an hour from the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Any thoughts? Ideas?
Always Appreciated
Adam
Ps. Can't remember whether it was here or Advrider but thanks to the guy with the Yes Yamaha Warranty info who has an uncle who owns a Yamaha dealership in Jefferson NC. Nice guy and big help!
See you on the S10 road
