I'm 53, live in western Norway and took delivery of a brand new XTZ 1200 E in rain and sleet three days ago. I grew up in a YAMAHA dealership, learned to ride at age 8 and hung around the grown-ups from then on -- and as a side effect I have the tuning fork logo tattooed on the inside of my forehead. To paraphrase Dan Rather, "I'm YAMAHA born and YAMAHA bred and when I die I'll be YAMAHA dead". Former bike was a TDM 900; before that a Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Classic, then YAMAHA XJ 900 F and XJ 750 Seca. I'm still a member of the XJ Owners Group -- great people -- and also ran their mailing list for several years when I rode my XJ's.

For this group I'm looking for tips, stories and banter to take my ownership to the greatest heights. In return I'll try to stay funny and sociable. And contribute with stories and ride reports.

Right now I'm just anxious to start serious riding as soon as possible. My S10 waits patiently in my garage, all dressed up and ready to roll.

Welcome aboard.

My other half's mother is Norwegian and Karen grew up frequently returning to Norway. We did a Edelweiss tour from Goteborg to Alesund and it was spectacular.

Long live the trolls.

Hi from the UK,

I've spent the last two summers riding around Norway, returning for a third this year to see more of the north (a task made much more difficult now I can't get a direct boat!).

Photo below from Lofoten last year, I was lucky enough to have beautiful weather for the entire trip - the year before it rained for two weeks solid :D
