Hello everyone, I'm Victor from Indianola, IA. Finally picked up a Super Tenere 2 days ago, I want to learn as much as possible from this forum and read about recommenditions from other members for everything ST related from gear, to services, to parts and even recommended trails or parks to visit. Thanks.

Welcome! Looks like you got one already outfitted with a lot of nice farkles.
I had been looking for a few weeks and found a 2014 with many accesories that i wanted. It had the Yamaha panniers, crashbars, corbin seats, brand new trailmax mission tires, what i think is an aftermarket heated grips, i'll attach a picture, someone on a FB page that the 2014 comes with heated grips from factory but the ones i have are controlled separately not through the bike's menu, so im not sure if they are a factory on mine. For a great price, did have to ride it back from Sioux Falls, SD 4 hours to Des Moines, IA with some wind and 40 degree weather but the windshield, heated grips, a last minute purchase of an klein artic balaclava to use under the helmet, and my current cruiser gear (still waiting on a jacket i ordered) worked great. I only had to stop once for fuel. Very comfortable ride, even under the so ideal conditions.

Greetings from Canada. Oxford warmers are great but definitely not stock.
Thanks for the clarification, that was my first impression, then started questioning it after someone mentioned that the 2014 comes with heated grips (maybe it was an option, or only available in the ES model). I am very happy with the Oxford so far, used on my very first trip on the 4hr ride home from the dealership where i picked it up.

Welcome from Colorado!
Awesome, I miss Colorado, i was stationed there in Fort Carson (from 2005-2011) before i started riding I would hit the trails in a Suzuki Samurai a lot. I tell my kids about Gold Camp Road all the time between Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek, I spent every other weekend up there, and eventually picked up my KLR650 to hit the trails, unfortunately soon after I had to move to Sierra Vista, AZ. I look forward to a ride to Colorado in the near future with the Super Tenere, I'm only 10 hrs away now. That's easily doable in a 4 day weekend!

Definitely let me know if you plan to come up.
We can put something together with some of the guys around Colorado.

Indianola? Is the F-troop still active? I had heard about F-troop while at Iowa State in the late 1970s. Dated a girl from Indianola off and on. One of my favorites (girlfriends, that is).

Welcome!

I have never heard of the F-troop since moving here. I'm going to guess is no longer active/around.

Great let me know next time you're riding out here, i'll ride with you, i'm off on the weekends.
Oh you foolish working stiffs! Weekends start on Monday for us retirees!
Seriously will be looking forward to a trip next summer. As a concession to my motorcycle adverse wife, I did trailer out this year.
