Thanks for having me!

Sold my 09 FJR last November to finance a move from VA to NH and now I need a bike. I've decided on an S10 and will be ready to buy in August, but until then, I'm going to lurk... ::017:: ::022::

Welcome from Walla Walla, WA. ::018::

I'm lucky enough to own both bikes. I ride the bike that best suits my mission. Solo usually the S-10. When my lovely wife joins me usually the FJR.

All in all. The S-10 is more versatile & would be the last one to go.

Welcome aboard.

Good choice, Bobrob. I did the same thing, with a Weestrom in between. I had an 04 FJR that I loved, and an 05 KLR, my second KLR. The combination was perfect, but it was two bikes to store and take care of. I wanted to get to just one bike. Loved the Wee, but it just didn't turn my crank after a while. Bought the Super Tenere and haven't looked back. No regrets, especially after the reflash. Do it!

::004:: from Oklahoma and Lurk away. Doesn't hurt to have a bit of knowledge when you go to buy one of these. Lord knows that a lot of the dealers don't have any idea. I have the good fortune to have a dealer/friend who rides a Tenere.

Good to hear.. I had considered a 'Strom but to be square, I've had my eyes on a Tenere for a number of years. While I loved the FJR (still shed a tear for it when I see one) this thing should give me the flexibility I want and will suit my riding style better.. A little bit grandpa, but still like a spirited 2 week tour that can now include some dirt/gravel. Additionally, many rural roads in my area are still unpaved. ;D

Thanks!

Been reading up on some of the issues like the CCT and getting a better idea of what to look for. Should have done that when I bought my 02 Explorer beater last February.

Welcome and good choice. I spent several months trying to talk myself into the FJR as an addition to the S10. In the end I decided why? I like riding the S10 so much I don't need another tourer.

Good to know.. I was on the fence thinking "Get another FJR" but I really want the flexibility of the S10.
