Hey Everyone I am new here, first post and looking to purchase a super tenere, any pointers and or advice. I am retiring in a year or so and want to ride to Alaska with my son from Arizona.

Yes, the Tenere is a very good choice for a long distance, comfortable and most importantly, reliable adventure bike.
I have the first gen. model but there are lots of improvements to the second gen. including cruise control which would be much appreciated on a ride to AK

There are several bikes for sale on the forum, including the 2016 mentioned and a recently advertised 2014 that has YES warranty until 2020, being a left over bike sold for the first time in 2015. Both of those are low mile great deals.

In case you haven't sorted it all out yet, Gen I bikes in the US are 2012-2013 models and Gen II bikes with factory CC and other changes are 2014-on. These bikes all have the same engine and will easily run past 100k miles w/o anything more than oil/filter changes, brake pads and tires.

Thanks when I find that section I'll take a look. Everyone has them but none of them built, I like to test drive one even 5 miles before I spend that type of cash.

I'm in western/central MA (according to Bostonians) and I just got back from an Alaska trip. Bike worked flawlessly. Still writing up the trip reports. Ask all the questions you want. There is a way to make it all work on this bike, but you don't have to change much to make it a continent crosser. Factory cruise control is a dream.
