Hey Chris and Kay, I too welcome you to this pack of crazies. . . I'm in Las Vegas with a good herd of S-10 owners. One of our leaders (Joneil on the forum) is planning an offroad ride Sat 6 April here in Vegas. I would love to invite you and the Mrs. Please read the thread under the Western Section (The one that has Nevada in it) and find "Destination Las Vegas". Jon started this ride and it's open to all comers. (I'm sure there will even be a non-S-10 or two in the pack, but we are friendly like that to our cousins. (My son will be on a VStrom) We have a chase vehicle (Joneil's wife) bringing food and refreshment (I'm sure an Adult Beverage or two . . .) and we will hit an old watering hole after the ride. So if your not doing anything that weekend, come on over, the weather's fine!

Oh, and once again, WELCOME and thanks for joining a GREAT group of people from all over the world!!!! Luke (TwoLukes)

Welcome to the forum Chris and Kay. Nice anti-gravity bike you have there. :D

Good intro too. The high desert is just a hop and skip from NV, so plenty of fun rides available for you two. I run a CalSci Med and am 5'11" with a tall torso. I prefer a little wind though, but suspect you might be fine with the large. Their site indicated a large for me, but as I said, I prefer a bit of wind, so the Med is a nice compromise for me. No buffeting, but I'm just out of that range. Another inch up and I'm getting buffeting. I added a custom seat and had to move the screen up to the higher setting to avoid the buffeting.

Have fun and ride as much as you can.

Thanks Eric..
It's starting to warm up out here in the desert,
When it starts to cool down again....I'm going to try an XL calsci.
For now, the stock shield is better then none.
The wind out here is only wind..beats birdshot.
The harder the wind hits,I think to myself "F$$K WIND,it can't hurt me"...

As for anyone else reading this..
I'm saving for a few simple farkmods,
Rox 2"ers
Pro taper atv's
Ride on extended lines,
SnakeBitten Spike Boards from Thunder Mfg. to replace those pup dog "pegs" I try to balance on in 13 steel toes..no thanks.
I've got a lot of hard pack dirt roads out here that I'd love to patrol standing up, for now I keep it on the twisted canyons and freeways of southern cal...
I look forward to the Vegas ride April 6th to see how I measure up to some other riders.

Hmmm... I have over 61,000 miles on my 2012 and still have the stock windshield and still like it. I'm 5'10" w/30" inseam. My 2014ES, when it gets here, with the taller stock windshield will probably feel like I'm in a car.
YMMV... obviously.

Let us know how long it takes for the oem windshield to change you mind about keeping it stock.

I'm definitely enjoying the bike,stock..
The Angeles crest is the Tenere's domain.....hard pack dirt roads in a strait line is a pleasure as well. When the goin gets steep/rocky.....I turn around and get outa there...don't wanna wreck this good lookin cycle.
Pro tapers and giant pegs are next for this great machine.
