New fun parts I "had" to buy today.....

I grabbed my gloves out of my zega box this morning, warmed up the bike and left the house. When I got to the office this morning I hopped off the bike to see that one of the lids is gone off my bike... ::010:: ::010:: ::009::
I had a customer there at the office waiting on me this morning, I told him what had happened, help load his bike real quick and then hopped back on the bike to go get the lid. I was already working out in my head how to fix the lid because I KNEW it had been run over on the road. Road all the way back to the house, looked every where for that thing. So I road five miles back to the shop and did that loop about three or four times looking for that lid.. Then I thought that it had probably fallen off in a three mile stretch. I parked the bike in a parking lot and walked all the way back to work. I thought I was just missing it.................. ::010:: ::010:: Well after the three + mile walk, no lid... ::010:: ??? Someone must have picked up one aluminum lid ::007::......... Called Touratech and they had one in stock. Also picked up a rear brake extension as well... F'- I hate days like this ::005:: I guess on good note, we are talking with TT to become a dealer... Prolly will be.. If you need TT parts let me know..... That sucks mate - had the same thing happen to a Happy Trails lid - user error, forgot to latch it - fortunately I saw it take off in my rear view mirror and was able to retrieve it before it got squashed.

Aren't the TT lids secured by a wire, which should prevent this from happening - I would have thought?

They offer these removable "straps" for $8.00... So I grabbed a set of those too..... It was my fault. It was just a dumb mistake... Really ticks me off.... If ya cant tell.... ::010::

Yep, those are the 'funnest' parts to buy . I failed to latch my top box once and lost a Jacket. No parts lost so far...knock on wood ::013::

This morning I road to work, missing a lid : I pull up and there is a delivery guy dropping off some stuff. So im standing there for a few minutes and this construction truck rolls up. These guys are checking out the ST and listing to what me and the other guy where talking about. I was just about to say "Cant I help you with something"... And he said, "are you missing a lid" ? I said YES !!!!
He turned around in his work truck and hands it to me, he said that they were behind me yesterday and watched it fly off. They picked it up 10 seconds after it fell off. Today he saw me heading to work and fallowed me to work.. How LUCKY is that ! I thanked him a ton !

So yesterday sucked bad...... today is AWESOME ! I cant keep this up.. Had to tell the crew im back together !
