Hi everybody!!

My name is Luis, I live in the north coast of Spain, and very soon I am going to be of those BMW R1200GS ex-users...after this summer at the latest I am going to change it for a new XT1200ZE Super Tenere. I am really tired of its continous failures, so I want a really trustworthy motorbike, and I think this yamaha will be.

So, I want to learn a lot about this fantastic machine, and read your experiences with it. I hope I can tell you my own ones very soon.

Best regards!!! ::003::

Welcome to the S10 Forum Luis, from the UK.

Lots of good help and advice here. Many of us have migrated from BMW too, for much the same reason. Mine was a K1600 GTSE - the most unreliable machine I have ever had the pleasure to own, in over 40 years of biking.

We stayed over in Gijon a few years back, in my Hayabusa period, after a round trip of Spain/Portugal. Stayed at the Parador, on the edge of the Parque de Isobel la Catolica. Lovely historic City, lots to do & see, with a fine beach. It's a shame they have dropped the idea of a Ferry link direct with the UK, as Gijon would make a excellent gateway to Iberia, as an alternative to Santander/Bilbao.

::004:: from Oklahoma! The Super Tenere has been the best, most reliable bike that I have owned. (not just saying that because I have owned two of the beasts). you will enjoy the reliability.

Luis / Bestiaparda - Welcome aboard. I am just returning from Asturia and have not even unpacked yet from hiking the Ruta de Alba in Parc Redes, and riding the Picos de Europe. You live in a beautiful land and the people I met were wonderful.

Squibb -
I met a group of Leeds UK riders in Potes who had just come on the ferry, arriving in Santander. This put them at the end of N621, which is a stunning way to start a ride after a day on the boat to get into vacation mode.

Thanks you all!!! I think this a fantastic forum, and it results enriched by the diverse experiences of many people from every corner of the world.

Actually, I live in Gijon, very near the Parador....lol

Any of you who wants information about this region, motorbike routes, trekking or adventure activities....only ask for it. Certainly this is a very beautiful area.

And anyone that comes over here, do not hesitate to warn, and I´ll give you some recommendations. Beers run on you!!
