Hey Guys..600 miles in and about to get the first oil change! I am basically a newbie to the moto world, but very experienced and accomplished cyclist. One thing that I love about the S10 is that I feel like I am in a simialr position to my mountain bike and that makes me feel safer on the road. I have been riding some of the local gravel and old backroads. Still getting used to the gravel, but I am learning that the bike is far more stable than it first feels.

Planning my first trip now..prob the CO TAT across to Ouray and then climb a few 14ers (on foot!) and then work my way back to climb a few more 14ers back on the eastern side of the state, I am relying on the S10 to get me to the trailheads that are unreachable in a rental car. Not looking forward to crossing texas in the heat, but oh well, it will be worth it.

Now I can start annoying y'all with all my questions! Hope to meet up with some locals or semi-locals soon.

I love riding up to remote trailheads and then hiking in from there. The Tenere is like a pack mule. Perfect for the job. Congrats and Geaux Tigers! LSU class of 83

Welcome from just across the state line. I ride around Caddo fairly regular just for an excuse to eat fish at Big Pines.

Thanks Guys..

LSU!!! They are trying to get a QB from the School my Wife works at. I hope he goes.

MChappy..I will watch for your ride plans and maybe we can hook up. I will be doing a bunch of route finding soon and will share with you what I find. I know there is some good stuff down south of Natchitoches in Kisatchie and a lot of good stuff on the west side of Toledo Bend (you prob know about that). Looking forward to Ouchita mountain riding as well.

::003:: Skullsplitter = the beer that got me into the Craft Beer world. Skullsplitter is a scotch ale made in the Orkney Islands of Scotland. Skullsplitter is the nickname of Thorfian Hausakljuv who was the viking Earl of Orkney around 950 AD. I assume to get a nickname like that he was a bad dude!

I should have some good pictures soon!

Thanks y'all!

Greetings from up here near Texarkana...... and ::026:: to Chappy on the Big Pines feed. Good fish there, they seemed to have recovered from their 'Far' fairly well.
