Sorry for the delay in getting back but life got in the way temporarily. Many thanks for all the welcomes from round the world. Picked up the new bike the other day and took it home. I had picked the grey livery over that blue silver combo after seeing both in the crate. Those are the only two choices we have this year. I have to admit that I would have liked the white or blue but that wasn't possible.
However, when I collected the bike I was delighted with the way it looked. So far I've only had the chance to drive it home which is about 160kms of main road but I'm very impressed. It's a beautifully solid piece of engineering and has great road presence, road holding and handling. Although I was running it in, I thought the engine was surprisingly responsive. The ergonomics are the best I've ridden. The only disappointment so far is the gear indicator which is slow and I suspect the suspension could be improved but I'm coming from years on Ohlins. Anyway, I have a real good feeling about this bike and I think we're going to have a good time together. @ Riva- I am in North Dublin- Swords. @Groundhog- That would be a lovely trip, especially if you get the weather. Wales is beautiful. Make sure you include Snowdonia Park and anywhere between the A55 in the north, and the Brecons in the south, you'll be hard pressed to find a bad road with lovely scenery. Get the fast boat over (two hours) and wander up the coast taking in the Cooley peninsula and the Co. Down coast. A fifteen minute ferry to the Ards peninsula and up the coast to Belfast. The coast road from Larne up past Tor head and across to Portrush is the most famous road and it is a must do. Get in touch nearer the time and I may be in a position to accompany you. I'm a technophobe and I have never typed so much. I'm going for a lie down. Stay safe.
