Hey guys,
I've continued to keep intouch with Barnett's about an aftermarket clutch basket. We've spoke several times about different ideas on resolving the vibration issue and incorporating some of there billet and stainless components they provide in the Barnett units. If you might be interested in this basket for your Tenere you need to touch base with Mike with Barnett's. Let him know you want one.

If you do write Mike, will you make a little note on this thread so we have an idea how many folks are really interested in this new product. They need to know if they can sell them if they develope and build them.

Thanks guys..... I'm the first signed up :)

How much does Mr. Barnett want for this basket of his? I feel vibes around 3 grand, under throttle but they are not very intrusive especially considering there are 2 coffee can-sized slugs under your arse going up and down! Can you call Rekluse and get them interested in making an application for the S10? I would sign up for that.

I'm in.
I notified.
I hate you. :)

Oh, and I wanna be clear I'm not one of those bothered by the vibes. Hardly. But I'm always willing to participate in these scenarios that require a "measurement" of potential sales. Especially when it benefits the community AND it's a product with an established reputation.

One of our YST.com riders has already upgraded his clutch basket though I am not sure which product he used. I will know more later today.

I never had a Barnett of any kind, but I have heard of their superior quality over oem. I'm torn between refitting mine with a 2014 oem rubber mounted basket vs a barnett clutch. I don't race but if the price was in the same neighborhood I would probably go with a Barnett. I can't commit right now though.

Update - I sent Mike an email, I can be assimilated ::26:: k'ching :))

Even with our spiffo-deluxe rebuild, I'm in. While the rebuild is certainly an improvement, a proper setup is even better.

E-mail sent.

Are these the only few people that have a clutch vibration that would like it fixed ?

If I were to take a guess, the answer is no. But many people will be hesitant to send the email and say they want something that doesn't exist yet. Not wanting to commit to it, because they may not like what is produced, know what I mean?

I'm definitely interested, because I have this vibration, and hope they get enough interest to produce this basket. I'm guessing the email is not an order, just a way of getting a count to Barnett so they can see if it's worth it, right? If that is the case, and people know they aren't making an order, more emails may start getting sent.

But that being said, Email sent. ;) Thanks Jaxon, just giving my guess as to why more emails haven't been sent.

I think part of the answer regarding a clutch basket modification will depend on the part numbers for the 2014 XT1200ZE, and if upgraded can it can be retrofitted to the previous model. Also fully understanding what Yamaha refers to as "upgraded clutch dampers" would help. If there is no change to the basket itself on the 2014 I would think Barnett would have a better reason to go ahead with a fix as this is a new model run and should be around awhile to help recover their development costs.
Just hope Yamaha dosen't take 10 years to improve the basket design like Suzuki did with the DL1000. ::)
E-mail sent to Barnett expressing interest in an improved clutch basket ::008::, thanks Jaxon.

If you were more specific (open and honest) about this inquiry, you would probably get many more riders interested.

Open and honest? What the heck are you talking about? I'm not hiding anything. They want to know how many people might be interested before they spend the time and money to develope the part. Other than that, that's all I know. Don't really appreciate being accused of hiding info or not being honest. That's not how I roll. When I have more info I'll post what I know. There's no part, no price yet.
