When I rolled the bike out this morning I noticed a nail in the back tire. I thought it'd be a good time to try out the Moto Pump I bought along with the Dynaplug repair kit. Better to learn how to do it at home then on the side of the road.

So I pull the nail out paying attention to the angle of the nail. Hooked up the Moto Pump to get some air in the tire and proceeded to try and push the plug in. Wow, that is harder then I expected. I'm a full figured guy and even though I'm in my 50's I think I still have some strength left. I pushed some more not getting anywhere and I made the mistake of backing the tool out of the hole a bit. I ended up pulling the brass end off the plug.

So I reloaded a new plug in the tool and thought I could push the brass piece through the tire. Boy, was I wrong. I can not get the frigging thing to budge. I can't see it to try and grab it with needle nose pliers either.

Can someone give me some hints of what I can do now?

Thanks!!!!

I've never used a dynaplug so I don't know if the procedure is the same as the snot cords, but with them, which I have done many, there is a reaming tool to make the hole a specific size before you insert the plug.

Never used them but YouTube will probably have something about them.

Watched a video on YouTube before starting. Looked simple enough. No reaming required either

Id ream the hell out of it. Additionally lube up the plug as much as you can. Lots of spit or some other sort of lubricant.

My problem now is the brass tip from the plug is stuck part way in the hole. I can't seem to get it pushed thru to the inside of the tire with the new plug....

I have the Dynaplug set. Reaming required. Make sure you pull the plug tight to seal the leak.

I have a dynaplug kit and it took me a bit to her figured out............

you DO have to reem it a bit, live and learn, they should include one in their kit IMO. If you gots a big hole it will take more than one plug, took me three. On my second usage I tried to fold it in half not sure how much a difference I made still took more than one.

Good luck

I picked up a nail in a nearly new K-60 last year. I tried to repair the tire with a Dyna Plug set that I had been carrying for several years. Like you, I could not get the plug in. I thought I was going to pull a hernia trying. Then I tried my other reamer-sticky string kit that I carry. Success. If I had used the reamer before the Dyna Plug the hole would have been too big. I tossed the Dyna Plug and am still riding that K-60.

did the Moto Pump work?

The Moto Pump seems to do a pretty good job. Although now with the brass tip stuck in it, it's leaking about as fast as the pump can work.

Well, now that's embarrassing to watch. Maybe I'm not as strong as I thought I am......

Maybe the trick would be to pull the wheel off so I could put the pressure straight down. Then I could use my full figure to my advantage!!!

I have not had to plug a tire on the bike yet but used the Dynaplug on the wife's Focus that picked up a16P and it worked great. 2 tire shops wouldn't touch it still holding two months later. Read the instruction you'll need to lube it up, AKA spit I carry it and a Slime pump under the seat of the S10 plus a small pliers for removing the nails and cutting the plug.

I don't know what to tell you about the brass plug still stuck in the tire. I've plugged a K60 rear twice now and plugs were in for several thousand miles until I killed the tire.

You have to get your whole body behind it and drive it in. I found letting it deflate some more helped. Once plugged I aired it up before trimming the string, if still leaking I added another one.
