Need destination advice for First Big ride planned ~April 8-13th

Got back from Seattle day trip (car). Stopped at REI in Issaquah and picked up Northface Furnace 20 degree bag and the REI foldable chair. Next Touratech and picked up 31L and 49L Ortlieb bags and a lockable chain mesh for theft deterrent. Drove up to Mountlake Terrace and visited David at Bestrestproducts.com and snagged a Sleeprite cot and Helmet Carabiner lock.

Think I will order the Green Chile Adventure Gear Uprising Soft Rack Kit and a couple snake straps to secure the bags.

I pulled out my 25 year REI Mountain Hut-2 tent and sealed the seams, still an awesome tent. Grabbed a couple compression bags. Just need to dig through my old REI backpack and get the Whisperlite and MSR bottle.

600 mile service is done. Insurance paid. Might consider a blue tooth headset.

I'm ready. Just gotta wait a month. 8)

Please post here about what you end up doing. I can't get my head around the suggestions of Utah, etc. for a trip of 6 days for less from Wenatchee. It is basically 1000 miles each way just to get there. In my mind that is 2-3 days just to get there, 2-3 to get back. Which makes a cool trip on its own, I guess, but no time to fool around once there. But maybe you are in the iron butt club!
