Near Death Experiences....an ongoing thread

Sometimes I'll go a week or two with no incident and other times I'll almost get run over or off the road multiple times in one day.


this morning was one of those multiple times in a day type days.....twice had people pull towards me into my lane.



please share your experiences as often as you like, it never ceases to amaze me how little people pay attention while driving.

People simply do not see us.

Last week I was going through an intersection, my right of way, some tool in a pickup, decides to pull out anyways...
seriously, hid lights, Rigid D2 on, da fug man?

Air horn, pipe, lights, and your wits at all times.
If you think they are going to do it, they most likely will.

Mine closest call was riding home from work yesterday. A stoplight was out on my normal route and the traffic was backed up because is was no a "4 way stop" which no one seems to know how to use. When I worked my way to the front of the line, a car to my right had sat while two cars in front of me had proceeded through after stopping.
Being a nice guy I motioned the car to my right to go (a gal talking on her cell phone). She finally went - making a left turn. I started go move through the intersection when out of the corner of my eye I see a car coming from my left. I grabbed the brake and stopped maybe a bike length in the intersection as the car flew past me at 20-30 mph in front of me missing me by a couple of feet maybe. I had to look at the light to make sure it had not started working while I was waiting my turn.
My guess is the dick was on his cell phone and just flew through the intersection not even realizing the light was out.
If he had not swerved slightly to his left and I had not stopped as quick as I did I would have been broadsided.

last year I was headed to work in the morning on the interstate, left lane passing a row of cars, cars in front of me and behind me..



an older woman in a small car starts to pull into my lane, I am at her window mind you, so I hit the horn and she hunkers down and just keeps coming...WTF? She heard the horn and just kept coming, like she was preparing for impact. I pulled into the shoulder between her car and the barrier for about 200feet while trying to get behind her.

that one was pretty sporty to say the least
