Howdy
Well it finally arrived. I ordered it when they first became “available” in Feb. but had to go through two delays. Well worth the wait.
•All mounting hardware lined up. Had to rotate my bars back just a hair so the hand gaurds would clear the shield. Probably more of a dealer prep thing.
•I replaced my Cal Sci Large. I got the Sport/Tour V-Stream. Though not as tall as the Cal Sci it came very close to providing the same amount of still air space vertically. The V-Stream is much wider at the top which increased the still air space horizontially. This is being measured seat of the pants sticking my hand up or out trying to gauge the pocket. Overall a much larger pocket of comfort behind the shield.
•I mention this because I saw someone ask the question about another shield. Yes, you can see the reflection of the running light in the shield just above the mounting brackets. Though when I had my turn signal on today I noticed the left light reflects on the right side of the fairing and visa versa.
•No distortion until you get near the “V”.
•Overall very happy with the product. I have it in the high position now and just look over it. I’m 5’ 10”. Moving it to the lower position should give me plenty of air on those hot days.
•I bought extra well nuts and the Cal Sci knobs so changing the height of the shield is pretty quick and easy.
Later,
Norm

Hi Norm,

Thank you for the review, as well as the great pictures!

Just to confirm, that's the Tour (24.25") version of the V-Stream, right?

If you don't mind, could you also tell us your inseam? I'm leaning strongly towards this screen, but it would really help to have a real-life comparison...

Cheers,
Chris

I got one also, but I will have to drill some adjustment holes as I am using a Madstad bracket and the VStream doesn't have adjustment holes. With the VStream in the lowest position with the Madstad I can't see over the windscreen without some radical tilt. I can't lower the Madstad as it will touch the winglets and the GPS bar hits the instrument cluster. No big deal to drill a couple of holes in the VStream.

Hi,
No, it's the Sport/Tour height and my inseam is 30". In those photo's it's in the upper position on the brackets.

Norm

Thank you, Norm! :)

Have you had a chance to get used to the screen yet, and are you happy with the sport-tour's height? Any buffeting or other issues?

Sorry about all the questions, but the local retailer doesn't let us trade-in screens, so I have to make doubly sure that I get the right one...

Hi,
I am very happy with the Sport/Tour height though I am also running OEM Wind Deflectors which unto themselves greatly reduce buffetting. In the upper set of holes it is just at eye level. In the lower set I am clearly looking over it getting a bit more wind in the face when it's warm.

Norm

Use painters tape on the glass where you drill. I just use standard wood bits on plastic. Make sure you start in slow drill speed. You can start w/ a smaller bit and gradually go larger if you feel uncomfortable at first.

Thank you again!

Tenerejack also gave me some great info- looks like I have to choose between the sport/tour screen at the high setting and the tour screen at the low setting... Man, I'm going to lose some serious sleep over this one! :p

My super duper fancy schmancy V-Stream came in while I was away. Popped her on last night. Looks great. I have the Motorradgarage bracket and it fit perfectly. I'll give her a go this morning, but it looks perfect. Just sayin' ...... more later. OBOYOBOYOBOYOBOY R ::012::

No, it's a beer heater. It never gets warm enough to need a fridge up here. Have to keep them from freezing, though. I just checked your weather ... it's about as kaka as ours. R

Who's got updates on their V-Stream? I'm really looking at the sport version, but it only comes in dark tint (waiting for a reply from them about a clear version). I'm really not a fan of tall screens, but I guess if I have to I'd go the sport/tour version, which is 2.75" taller.

I really don't like having the edge of the screen in my line of sight... how is the Sport/Tour version for you people of the 5'11" persuasion?

I have the middle size one ... Sport/Touring I think. I also have the Motorrad Garage bracket. I'm 6 foot even. I love it. Awesome set-up. Couldn't think of anything I like better if you beat me and starved me and put a gun to my head. Very nice windshield. With the bracket, I can have it where I'm looking WAY over the top, or move it up to where it's just about eyeball height. You can take my dog before you take my ... well, hold on now .... OK, I won't give up the dog, but I really like the windshield. I have some pics posted here somewhere earlier on. R ::008:: ::008:: ::008::
