It was only a year ago where I posted a thread asking our fellow forum members who's wanting to sell their precious S10. A member who lived 15 min. down the road from me was selling his and within 4 days of making the thread, I was the proud owner of a lightly used Super Tenere!

The bike is an original '12 and had ~8800 miles on it. Today, it has 22.5k miles. :D I've done road trips (Blue Ridge Parkway) and many off road rides (Damn you Ocala Nat'l Forest sand!) on him and it's just been miles and miles of smiles. There are always the things that I won't like about it (S10 OEM cases are the devil and so is the left side radiator fan) but the pros far outweigh the cons.

Here's to many more years of great times on this wonderful bike! ::015::

Its great seeing a love affair develop... ;) Sure to many years for me too on a Tenere. I know the OEM cases are like marmite (love em or hate em). I'm a lover... O0 , but what's wrong with the side mounted rad? Does it hurl abuse at you for taking it to hot places... :D

If you ride in the sand, then dropping the bike will not be uncommon. Dropping the bike on its left side has a very good chance of jamming the fan against the radiator which would then burn out the fan motor and then you start having a bad time. I did a rally this past weekend and a fellow S10 rider saw my bike with upper crash bars and asked why I had them in which I replied about the radiator fan placement issue and how I experienced it in the past. Well, he dropped his bike and after he saw that his bike started overheating soon afterwards, he knew exactly what was wrong. I dropped mine on the left side as well BUT I'm sure the upper crash bar I had helped prevent from destroying yet another fan motor.

I had a feeling it was about dropping it... ::002:: My rad should be fine then, as I don't go near sand unless it's mixed with cement! ;)

I'm more a road devil than a dirt demon. There are places I want to go offroad but haven't equipped the S10 for it yet.

Glad youre enjoying yours! I am too!
