I don't consider myself a lucky person, but yesterday may have been the peak of my luck.
Since getting rid of the top case I've been putting my wallet in different locations when pumping gas. Formerly I'd put the wallet in the top case while pumping. Kept it safe and I didn't have to think about it.
Thinking I didn't want to just leave it sitting on my seat behind me as I attended to entering zip code and what ever other info the pump required, I stashed it under my sheep skin. I always put the receipt in my wallet when done, so didn't want to go through the hassle of putting it back in the side pocket of my riding pants.
Got distracted when done pumping. Not thinking, rode off.
About 23 miles later stood up for a while to stretch my legs. A mile or two after that decided to feel my pocket for that reassuring feeling of the wallet being where it is expected...it wasn't. Feel more...nope, really not there. Quick feel under the sheep skin...nope. $#%! all the thoughts of the hassle that will come my way, cancelling credit cards, getting new ID and so much more #@!!~!!. #@!& *#@!!
Pulled over, felt/looked under the sheep skin, then under the beaded seat cover...nope. Then I noticed this...
What are the odds of that...very remote. Probably should have bought a lottery ticket.
