Since this appears to be the cruise control thread, I will add my experience on my new-to-me 2014 in case it helps anyone.

CC was operating normally when I took delivery of the motorcycle. After some mods / adjustments, it began to intermittently malfunction. I subsequently solved the malfunction.

Onset:

-added Barkbusters, adjusted control levers in and control pedals down to my preferences (all at the same time)

-tested brake lever and pedal after adjustments to ensure brake light was not activating unless pedal depressed / lever pulled (it was working correctly)

-issues began on next ride after modifications

Symptoms:

-Yellow cruise master light works as it should, no flashing or error codes, comes on when turned "on", turns off when turned "off", reliably every time.

-Green "set" light works only intermittently, when it doesn't come on the cruise doesn't work; when it does come on the cruise works. Seems to not work about 2/3 of the time.

-Works more reliably under hard acceleration and high speeds (eg, hard throttle and setting the cruise once I reach 75+ mph seems to work almost every time). If cruise is working then the decel / accel functions also work.

Solution:

-rerouted wiring from handlebar controls so it wasn't pinched / chafing on the Barkbuster inner mounts

-disassembled, cleaned, and lightly lubed the front brake lever switch

-disconnected rear brake pedal switch (removed the spring from the switch)

Notes / thoughts:

Because I did all three of the above "solutions" at the same time, I can't say for sure what solved my issue; but my bet is the rear brake switch. I had adjusted the foot pedal as far down as it could go, and I noticed when I was testing it that the brake light illuminated almost immediately when I touched the brake pedal. Reading this thread taught me that the front brake switch is actually two micro-switches, one which deactivates CC, and that the switch that deactivates CC 'comes on' just before the brake light activates; so it seemed reasonable to believe the rear brake switch would be of similar construction. If that is the case then my bet would be the pedal was adjusted right to the threshold of the switch and every so often the switch would be activated unintentionally. I wasn't resting my foot on it but it was probably so close to the threshold that almost anything (bumps in the road, etc) could cause the switch to activate. My solution to this was to simply deactivate the switch by removing the spring that runs between the pedal and the switch plunger on the back of the pedal. I rarely use only the rear brake in a situation where I would need the brake light on so this doesn't bother me.

My casual understanding from searching on here is that if you have a solid amber 'CC on' light, but you can't 'set' CC, your issue is an adjustment error of some sort, as it was with me. If you have a flashing amber 'CC on' light and / or an error code then most likely you have a electrical system failure most likely manifested by the front brake switch failing.
