Helllo All,
Here is the only pic I hve left of my 2015 Yamah FJ-09 I bought in May of last year. In Dec I traded it in on my 2015 SupTen. If the FJ had just had a driveshaft I would have kept it forever.

My dad is looking at the FJ-09 right now.. he currently has a Honda CB500F and is looking to upgrade a bit. He's told me he's jealous of my Ténéré :)

Talcon, tell'm the FJ-09 is a wonderful bike. Very manouverable, a pleasure to ride and smooth on the highway. Very little vibration. And fast with great pick up in higher gears. At 90 no vibration. As I said, the ONLY reason I traded in was for a driveshaft. If the FJ9 just had a driveshaft I'd kept it forever

I'm glad to see your coments on the FJ-09 as it is on my short list of bikes. I'm hoping to test ride one soon and I'm also hoping that Yamaha will equip the bike with cruise control for the 2017 model year.

My dreamteam motorcycle stable hopefully will soon consist of a Super Tenere, FJ-09, and a WR250R.

I definitely considered the FJ-09 or Versys 1K over the Tenere. Those engines are great! A friend lead me toward to the Tenere and I got a good price on one.
I really like the S.D. over the chain.
Hope I don't make the mistake of selling it now.

If it helps, my 2011 Super T is staying, no matter what road bikes I own (70Km and counting)

I sold my FZ-07 last august, and picked up a brand spank grey FJ.
I have roughly 3400 KM on it now, and I must say, it's a great road bike. If your intentions are road oriented, go for it. Lots of adjustability, great pick up (power wheelies, no worries at all, turn off the TC). It's comfy after I got rid of the stock seat and replaced it with a Seat concepts seat.

Fuel economy is first rate as well. Average consumption is currently showing at 5.3L/100km, 44 mpg (US)
Compared to my 2014 FZ09, the fueling is much better. Still a bit of a on/off thorttle snatch, but nothing to write home about.

One thing to note. If you're expecting a great handling bike, expect to throw another 2g on proper suspenders (Front traxxion dynamics fully adj. cartridges, rear yacugar high/low comp, reb, hyd. preload). I have not done write ups on the suspension upgrades, but will follow up with a post shortly once I hit 5km on the odometer.

btw...I think I have my dream garage sorted: ST, FJ, XC300, could use a trails bike...Beta 270 :D
