First off, great forum. ::012:: I have learned a lot reading the past couple of weeks. I currently have a well farkled DR650 that I love and plan to keep indefinitely. I have been seriously lusting on a new 2012 Super Ten and nearly dropped the cash last night. I decided to do a bit more research to help educate myself prior to buying. I haven't ridden one yet but the dealer has offered to set up a test ride which I plan to do this Friday. I am 6'4" 225lbs with a 38" inseam and with the seat at the lowered position my knee caps are pressed against the side cowls...ouch. ::007:: I had the dealer raise the seat and I clear but barely. I am hoping seat concepts can make a bit taller version or tilt the seat base to help out a bit. I love my DR650 tall version from Seat Concepts. ::008:: Lowering the pegs would be awesome but the brackets are welded to the frame so ???? I am sure I can make the ergos work without too many issues. Looking forward to riding and adding it to my stable. ::001:: See you around :)

Welcome, Reveille. I'm 6'4" and 232 with a 34" inseam. To give proper credit, I once sat on Don in Lodi's bike, then did the same to mine : 2" Rox risers and pull the bar back a little, and pegs from Twisted Throttle. They are wider, and have the option of mounting 1/2" lower. It makes a lot of difference.

Thanks all for the warm welcome. I will post up in the general forum once I study up some. ::024:: I run the mark 2 pivotpegz on my DR650 in the lowered position and that along with lowering brackets makes my 45 year old knees much happier when I need to pop up on the pegs. ::008::

The S10 has a lot more room than your DR650. You will be a happy camper. ::001::
Well my DR has been heavily modded for my tall stature. Here is a recent picture. Notice how low the pegs are and how high the seat is... Seat height is 37" and I can easily flat foot while stopped. I am amped that the S10 is roomy. test riding tomorrow and most likely signing the papers shortly after. ::024::

As some have said before; The Tenere is 80% complete off the showroom floor - Yamaha did this on purpose so you could make the bike your own. I believe that 100%!

So I am not sure if I told you guys but I picked up the new bike Friday after work and rode from the dealer in Illinois up to Wisconsin where I stayed the night at my brothers in Pewaukee. This morning I met up with a group of riders from ADV, 19 in total and we proceeded to ride 150 miles of rustic roads. I then rode 160 miles back home. Just sitting at a bit over 500 miles and she finally made it home to her new stable. I went ahead and introduced the new stable mates to one another. I think they make a great pair ::008::

Thanks Dan,

Glad to see you over here as well ::008:: Yes I am also over on DRRiders pretty often and help out with the moderating duties. Loving this site but my wallet seems a bit lighter lately ::025::
