So since buying my Tenere a few weeks ago, then adding hard bags, tank bag, adjustable windshield, Yamaha wind deflector thingies, lowered the bike, $$$$ in tools, cool custom clutch/brake levers and a seat (drivers seat only). i even left for four days on the bike.
I now realize I have paid absolutely no attention to my wife and kids (but the kids dont give a rats ass) so I need to spend some time (which equals money) on/with my wife but I am broke.
2 bikes for sale and only nibbles.
Grrrrr, me and impulsive behavior, sure glad we have a guest bedroom.
:'(

Pack up the tent and coffee pot.
Ride 2-up to some gorgeous view to watch a sunset\sunrise.
Wake early and make the coffee.

Usually takes a couple of nights before a tent changes from a hardship to a romantic nest. :)

2 up and a nice sunset I can do.
Camping though....my wife's idea of camping is a Holiday Inn Express.
Ok, then it will take 3 days. :)

And I highly recommend a big thick air mattress under the sleeping bag. And real pillows. (Pack that Tenere like a mule!)
And use sleeping bags as blankets. No fair sleeping independent.
Must be surprisingly comfortable.

Work it dude! Beg.

Not so sure. If your wife views camping the same way my wife views camping you may be living in that guest room for a long term.

If she can't take camping (and I don't really blame her) look up cabins near your location. Take next Friday off work, then do a long weekend with her at some cabin within a 2/3 hr ride or drive. We did that after the Labor Day weekend, and it was time/money well spent. Especially after me being away riding the entire holiday weekend immediately prior.

My wife would agree with Dirt Dad and ibthegator's wives on camping. We did camp when we were younger, but she has now completely lost interest in it. Moer than lost interest really. More like openly hostile to the concept! ;D I still really enjoy it, so if a motorcycle rally is a camping rally, I will be there solo. If it is a hotel rally, she is happy to accompany me. I know what you mean about impulse buying. I too have been guilty of that at times...

My wife is crazy, I guess.

50 something (?) and will jump on the back having no idea where we are going and where we will sleep.
Of course she can see the tent, sleeping bags and air mattress if they are packed on the bike.

I think I would choose Best Western before she would. :)

I'm getting my wife there - slowly but surely - she's coming around...

I bet you're right. I make much better coffee than Best Western.

Oh, and you don't miss anything.

Maybe that's why we don't like camping...neither one of us drinks coffee.

To be honest I think we both blame the Army for ruining camping and coffee for us.
