Hello Guys

Just received last weekend (after 1,5 month) my MRA X-creen from off-the-road. Much better than OEM screen, now I can listen to the engine when riding, keep my helmet screen up at 60 mph (Nolan N84). Lower screen height is similar to OEM screen, but width is larger, taking away shoulder turbulence...

I was thinking of changing my helmet because I found it noisy...now I'm looking at new farkles for the bike with that money ..

Here I leave you some photos

Cheers

JC

Looks good! Have you tried it without the top piece?

I like the tinted version, looks nice.

I see they also sell just the top "wing" part. I have been toying with the idea of adding one of those to my Givi screen just to add some adjust-ability into the mix. The Givi is pretty good, but still a little bit of dirty air.

Nice looking screen! I had one of these on one of my V-Stroms and they work good.

No, not yet. Autumn is coming fast around here (Chile), so I prefer having the best wind protection. Probably next summer I will be triying it without the top screen.

I have the Vario too, and the screen in those pictures is definitely not the same. So I went out to the Twisted Throttle site. The X-Creen is out there - it is basically a separate spoiler that you can put on any screen to turn it into something like a Vario. Which is basically what people think the Vario is - people ask me all the time, where did I get the little spoiler, and they're always kind of confused when I tell them the Vario came with it already attached.

There are two versions of the X-Creen. One is permanent mount (I assume you have to drill holes) and the other is a clip-on.

Thanks for that, Katherine. In that case, it appears to be the MRA touring screen with the X Creen bolted on to it, right?

i have the vario, great screen works brilliant at max speed and cruising, i dont see why you would want to try it without the top part though it just clicks down out of the way if you want it too ?????

I don't think that anybody is talking about taking the spoiler off of the Vario. MRA also sells a touring screen without a spoiler. I said that the one in the OP looks like the MRA touring screen with the X Creen bolted on, which is different than the MRA Vario.

Hi Fred, I had asked if the OP had tried it without the spoiler. I was thinking about the very high temps we will have in the summer and getting more air flow to the rider. I guess after looking at it, you can just fold the spoiler flat and accomplish the same thing?

Hi Jim,

Guess I missed your question to the OP. Sorry 'bout that.

Hi folks,

I think I am going to give one of these X-creen things a go. I was tempted with the CalSci, but I this just seems a more adjustable solution. I have the Touratech screen bracket too so should be able to get a good setup. Any thoughts on smoked vs clear? I have always had clear screens so a little uncomfortable with the idea of reducing the forward visibility (even though I anticipate mostly looking over the screen), but the smoked does look nice. :-\

Matt

I have a smoke colored MRA vario touring screen. I rarely look thru the screen so the smoked color is not an issue. I like it because it gives a nice background for my GPS which is on a SWmotech mount above the instruments. I don't like it because the "smoke" color is kind of purple. Reminds me of ghetto tinted windows.

Hi guys,

I went for the clear X-creen in the end. Not fitted it yet, but really pleased with the quality of finish. Pleased I went clear rather than smoked too.

The main screen is very similar in size to the Yam touring screen, but a nicer shape. Looking forward to fitting and trying it, and my Yam touring screen will be up for sale.

Regards,

Matt
