I had a difficult time too with the Wasworks screen mount screws. I understand why they are that length so it does not prtrude too far and limit range of motion, but they do need to be at least 2-3mm longer. It was really difficult to get them started in the wellnuts.

Fred,

If you don't mind me asking, what is your height? We have had several big discussions over on the Tiger1050 board regarding windscreens, as the riders height makes a very large difference in how effective any screen is.

One gent complained about all the screens, then we found out he was something like 6'10" tall! No wonder!.

Thanks!

Rod, did you have any difficulty getting the shorter 5 mm x 16 mm button head screws started to bolt the screen onto the brackets? It may be because I was mounting the MRA to the bracket and perhaps it is thicker than the OEM (not sure) but I had one heck of a time trying to compress the well nuts enough to get those shorter screws started. Right now I have 2 of them in on one side and used 2 longer 20 mm screws for the other. I see why the 16 mm are preferred, because the longer ones will stick thru and hit the other bracket in certain positions, but right now I have 2 very tender thumbs from pushing on those well nuts to try to get them started.
Yes, I did and first thought I had somehow messed up on the instructions and chose the wrong screws at an earlier step. Took a bit of pushing to get them to finall ingage.

Jeff, I think that if you look at Wasp's instructions, he says to use the shorter silver screws to attach the windscreen and the original longer black screws to attach the base bracket. As stated above, the reason for the shorter screws here is so that they do not interfere with the base bracket when the screen is tilted all the way back.

Ding dong back atcha. ;D

It's not just height, it's inseam. Or rather, it's your height minus your inseam. I have friends who are the same height as I am, who complain of windshield buffeting all the time, while I never have any trouble. The same friends also complain of seats that are too high, and I never have trouble there either. I guess that this is where I get even for all the years of never being able to find any riding gear that fits me.

See you and I are the same height but if you rode any of my bikes you'd probably whine about my windshield choices. I'm 5'11" with a 35 inch inseam.

Very true. I'm 5'11" with a 32" inseam, so already the 3 of us are the same height but with different inseams and hence longer & shorter torso's and will probably have different opinions on the same windscreen setup.

Here's a clear one.

At 6' tall (31" inseam) it's still not enough when sitting up straight in the lowest seat position. I'm getting a screen adjuster to go with it.

Looking at that MRA screen and the large opening at the bottom, won't this flow alot of air/rain/bugs into the back of the display housing and (for me) my GPS units mounted in that location?

I am 5' 11" and 32" inseam, my Wasp adjuster is somewhere over the pond most likely.

OEM screen in the highest position gives me more protection than in low position but dirty air around my face shield.
