Yesterday I promised someone a pic of my MRA Vario windcreeen. I forgot which thread it was in, so I'll start another.
Also I will say that I like it a lot, it is a big improvement over stock. Today I added Wasp's adjuster with this screen and the jury is still out on that, I'll have to put more miles on it and try several adjustments. So far, I think I would have been happy with just the MRA screen.

I put one on my S10 the day after delivery. So far it's the best mod I've done on any of my bikes. No buffeting at any speed 75kph thru 160kph O:). No angle adjuster need for me.5'8" with 29in inseam(long torso)

That was one I had in mind if the stock screen and Wasp bracket don't give me what I want.

Fred, look forward to hearing more about it with the Wasp bracket. Is that one clear or smoke?

Fred,
What is the size difference over stock and will this shield interfere with the side deflectors? Also did you purchase from TT they have it for 144.00 I believe?
Thanks

I had a MRA Vario screen on one of my V-Stroms and it was okay, but it never did seem to offer the range of protection that the Madstad bracket did that I added at a later time. It was for this reason that I opted for Greg's bracket for my SuperT. I installed mine last night, but not sure when I will get a test ride.

I must admit, I like the tinting of the MRA screens!!

This is my concern it's a nice looking screen but looks to be the same size as stock which gives me terrible wind. I tried it in the high position now I switched back to low and will see how it goes. Rod I would love to read what difference the Wasp bracket makes for you and is this something guys are going with to keep a smaller profile screen but still have protection by using the bracket? I'm also waiting to see what Paul (ptfjjj) has to say about the large Cal Sci screen.

It is the smoke model and I think it looks great.

BTW, I had a MRA Vario on my 08 KLR650 and was very impressed with it there also.

I will have to measure it tonight after work, but can tell you that it is taller and wider than stock. I haven't installed my deflectors yet, but am sure that it will not interfere.

My dealer, Niehaus Cycle Sales is a Twisted Throttle dealer and I bought it there.

Thanks a lot Fred this really helps b/c as I said earlier I'm looking at this one now b/c I love the tint or the larger Cal Sci which is pretty large and I'm not sure I want to go that big. Here is what the Cal Sci looks like.

Try kicking the bottom of the screen forward with the adjuster Fred.. get some airflow under the screen to balance out the pressure drop as the wind rushes over and around it.

Love the look of that MRA 8)

That's actually one of my pics with the proto/development screen on my bike.. Worked well for touring before I raised the rear with the suspension kit but I still have it on the shelf and never used it again.
To "in-your-face" off road (certainly from a safety perspective) and I get the same protection with my adjuster and the factory screen now when touring.

Shipping has come down now as well since Mike has been using Aus Post instead of the couriers but send him an email for a quote..
Tip: Buy an exhaust as well and press him (read insist) that you get the lot with free shipping ;) Just mention this thread and yamahasupertenere.com forum

Greg, I installed my bracket last night. One minor suggestion, and this is coming from someone that panicked when I dropped one of your special thin welnuts and then tried unsuccessfully to find one at our local hardware stores. It would be REALLY nice if you could include one extra "just in case" since they are a rare breed here.

After I came home from the hardware store (empty handed), I did find the missing welnut.

Thanks!!

Rod

Thanks Greg I would love to oblige you on the exhaust but I'm strictly comfort and safety mods. I'm done messing with pipes, air intakes, PC, and remapping. Just leave it stock and ride. Thanks again I'm going to wait and see what Fred and Rod report back on the bracket.

Rod, did you have any difficulty getting the shorter 5 mm x 16 mm button head screws started to bolt the screen onto the brackets? It may be because I was mounting the MRA to the bracket and perhaps it is thicker than the OEM (not sure) but I had one heck of a time trying to compress the well nuts enough to get those shorter screws started. Right now I have 2 of them in on one side and used 2 longer 20 mm screws for the other. I see why the 16 mm are preferred, because the longer ones will stick thru and hit the other bracket in certain positions, but right now I have 2 very tender thumbs from pushing on those well nuts to try to get them started.
