Hey guys.... after nearly 10K on my Battlewings in the Southern California desert Im moving to Seattle this August. My big dilemma... I was going to buy the K60's, but now Im wondering if I should rethink my strategy given the predominately wet pavement.

Thoughts?

I live in PDX and based on what I have heard about the K60's on wet pavement I will stick with the Battle wings, or similar. I would mount a set if I was headed to Alaska or something though. All depends if you plan to ride in the rain or not, but seeing as we have 8 months of it up here you pretty much have to.

doublej, We run them here!!! We just watch out p's and q's a bit more as well. The rides into the mountain forest service roads having the K60's makes it a wonderful combo. I have ripped the k60's on some good rocks, and had great luck with them. If you aren't doing any off roading, then maybe the SHinko E705 Radial will be another great combo.

Oh, and one more thing, send me a pm with your email and cell so I can add you to the 33 or so Tenere's we have here in the greater Seattle area whom get together quite often for rides, eats and fixing stuff at my house.

Welcome to the hood!!!

Jeff

Thanks for the ideas... I pretty much stick to about 80/20 Road to Dirt on the Tenere... just too darn big. I stick to mostly well kept service and gravel roads if I can... I had a pretty gnarly go down on the Tenere with those Battlewings up in the forest that nearly took my leg off, so Ive been keeping it pretty vanilla since.

I ride a lot, so maybe those Shinkos would be a good option... I mostly just want to feel confident buzzing up a service road now and again but also be able to enjoy the incredible roads available out there.

jay, i used the Shinko's on my DL1000 STrom. They did do better when airing them down some in the gravel sections. Otherwise for the $$, they are wonderful and better in the wet than the K60's. I think i hear of 8k avg out of a radial rear.
