I know, some of you are going to say "You need help BECAUSE you're moving to Cali!"...

Some of you may even be tempted by your own local weather to volunteer sight unseen for anything that'll get you to California!

But this one is simple...

On the nights of March 10 and 11, I need somewhere secure to park my trailer.

See, there are some things the movers won't take, or that I won't let them take. Motorcycles being on that list. Hence the trailer. I need to swing by St. Helena CA for an event on my way South. And I confirmed with my hotel they have only street parking available. This being a somewhat insecure location to park my trailer for two nights, I'm trying to find other solutions.

Some background:

I'll be driving from Seattle on the 10th, arriving later that evening. Looking to be about 13 - 14 hours on the road, maybe a smidge less depending on traffic, et al.

Trailer will obviously be pad locked, with wheel nut locks in place and two hitch locks installed. I have considered an actual wheel lock, those big yellow ones, but most look to be fairly flimsy - so a visual deterrent, but wouldn't stop a crow bar, essentially. Not hoping for a discussion on security and locks, mind you, but if there are obvious tips that make a difference, I'm all ears.

Bottom line is I'm hoping to connect with someone from the community in the area who might be willing to babysit my trailer for two nights in exchange for, I dunno, say a nice bottle of scotch?

Can you rent one of those GPS trackers, with a smart phone app, and attach it to the trailer?

I'm not too close to St. Helena if that's where you're looking to park it.
Not sure how far south you're going.
But I'm in Frazier Park 10 miles off the 5 freeway.
Plenty of safe parking where I live.
If you need to stop by there let me know.

This could be an option. :) I'm speaking at a conference in Napa, then continuing down to the greater Simi Valley area to where our new place will be. So dropping the trailer in a community nearby to St. Helena for a couple days, then fetching and continuing South sure beats risking it on the streets, IMO...

Let me refine my plans a bit more and see what shakes out CC. :)

...and yes, i could remove two wheels, but really it's three as it now has 4, so taking two still lets them swap a wheel and tow on one axle. mostly, due to the outrageous cost of jack stands, this is prohibitive. ;) In all seriousness, not a bad idea if push comes to shove. :)

Well I guess we'll have another S10 in the neighborhood. ::004::
Not sure if you'll be driving the coast or the 5 depends on your plans.
Also have plenty of room at the house if you need a place to stay.
Simi is about an hour from me so if you need anything on the way let me know.
