Looking to install one of the Givi's Monolock top cases (E30 or alike). Would the universal plate that comes with the case attach to the stock carrier plate or a different one is required ?

Just installed the SR371. Took off two pieces of the OEM rack in order to mount it. Sorry didn't take photos. Dont know if this info is helpful at all. Good luck.

The Givi SR371 is a nylon type rack for the top case. I installed the aluminium one SRA2101. Both take the Givi monokey top cases (not the monolock cases). I don't know about the SR371 (nylon) installation, but to install the SRA2101 (aluminium) you need to remove the top part of the OEM rack (the plastic coloured one). The new Givi rack will then fit onto the metal OEM bottom rack. I hope this helps.

Firstly, the brackets for the Givi rack, whichever version you buy, SR371 or SR2101 are metal. The material for the base plate varies with the kit.

I had the SR371 kit and this ships with a M7 or M5 Monokey base plate, made from nylon. As far as I know they do not make a kit without the base plate.

So, if you have not purchased the case yet, look at the Monokey options rather than Monolock then just buy the SR371 fitting kit.

If you already have the Monolock case and base plate then just get the SR371 kit and substitute your base plate for the one in the kit. It will attach fine. Keep the Monokey plate for future use or sell it.

One point, if buying new boxes, Kappa is a sister brand to Givi who make both Monolock & Monokey cases. In Europe they are readily available and cheaper than Givi. There's an Ebay seller, http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Outlet-Ricambi who will ship worldwide. I've just ordered some Kappa K40 side cases from them.

I know this is an old thread, but do you or anyone have pictures of non adventure cases mounted on the S10?
Sorry no; plenty available though - just use search or scroll through the luggage section. Now, just a couple of notes as this is a resurrection.: -

1. Take care with load ratings on the Givi plate & top box options - some boxes are effectively a helmet store & max at 5 KG OTR.

2. If you ride 2-up regularly, your pillion may not thank you for choosing the Givi/Kappa plate option. Better go with an Altrider rack IMHO, which gives more room by moving the box back. Again plenty of pics/detail in the luggage section.

Thank for the response. I sent the Givi plate back and ordered the Alt rider for that reason!
