Wow only $60 for some under wear. Last time I heard someone bragging about paying that for under wear they talked some young lady out of hers.

But seriously...........how do they perform?

The Moto-Skiveez have padding similar to bike shorts that usually cost more. One downside compared to LD Comfort shorts is that if you are washing in a motel sink at night the padding may not dry overnight. Not a problem with LD Comfort.

Very nice of your wife. I'll look froward to hearing of your experience with them. Been using KLIM Aggressor briefs with no padding or complaint.

Moto Skiveez Review:

Howdy Folks ,
I tested out the Moto Skiveez on Friday . My wife and I rode 137 miles about 60% off road and 40% on road . It was about 75 degrees and sunny . The Moto Skiveez worked great . It helped a lot with the areas I was getting sore in . They were comfortable , kept cool and they provided just enough extra padding where I needed it . On Saturday night about 6:30 pm I washed the Moto Skiveez and hung them on a clothes rack in my spare room . Sunday morning at 8:00 am they were dry and my wife and I rode 70.5 miles both on and off road and the temp was around the same as Friday . Washed them again Sunday night around 7:00 Pm and wore them again on Monday to go to a friends BBQ , that ride was only about 39 miles round trip on pavement . It was hotter on Monday yet the Moto Skiveez still felt cool .
I had my doubts at first , but after using this product I can say they did help me a lot . I'm probably going to get another pair .

JT

Here are some pictures of Fridays Ride . We were exploring dirt roads out on the prairie and ended up in Montana . There are a heck of a lot more old dirt country roads for us to explore off these dirt roads .

I love my LD Comfort shorts tell the temp needle goes above 75 degrees and then I get a heat rash wearing the dam things....I have talked to the company owner and he insist I am doing something wrong when I wash them or me....I have followed his advice to a tee...tried different sizes to no avail...Above 75 its miserable and painful...don't think I need the extra padding the moto skivs have...STILL LOOKING

I put 1300+ miles on mine in four days last week. They worked great!
Things that usually go numb (that shouldn't) didn't.

I was pretty cautious at first but glad I bought them.

Drove to Denver from Colorado Springs yesterday NOT wearing them. Things go numb pretty quick. Was surprised on the difference.

Plus the hat is awesome!

Kind of funny, in Dinosaur, CO, we stopped to eat at a little gift shop place. To guys on Harleys stopped by to eat combing back from Glacier National Park.
One said he had the same hat. He started talking about the skivvies and said, "I just thought about them for the first time this morning. I guess if you never thing about how your a$$ feels, then they must be working good"

definitely a winner in my book.

Decided to give these a try. Jury is still out. Only used them for about 100 miles so far.

Not exactly thrilled with the power wedgie they create. Seems like the non-fabric part really wants to make close friends when standing. I do hope that is a temporary thing until they are broken in. Never really thought about "breaking in" this type of garment in the past.

There's one in every crowd, and this time it's me.

I hate these things. Just returned from a 10 day trip where I was absolutely wanting to give these a fair shot before giving an opinion. After a few 8+ hour days I can say they provide me with no benefit over a standard pair of Underarmor shorts. In fact, I believe they cause more discomfort than experienced with Underarmor. Even if they were equal, as soon as I ride standing up, or start walking around, that damn wedgie just annoys the hell out of me.

I really do hate these things. Of course, YMMV.

Good read and timely for me as yesterday, during a long stint on the motorcycle I started thinking/feeling that my normal underwear was starting to annoy me. It was bunching up on me and I think sometimes those hot spots on my butt are from where they've bunched up forming a ridge or "seam".

I mountain bike as well and started thinking about wearing that "liner" in my MTB shorts and see how they work…

Anyone do that? Use a pair of the cycle short liners? Just from the looks the LDs and these skiveez look "similar"… anyone try cycling shorts?

The problem with cycling shorts is that the padding is in the wrong location (in your crotch). The Moto-Skiveez position the padding where it should be for an upright seating position (on your butt). There is also some padding in the inner-thighs to avoid chafing from constantly standing and sitting when riding off-road. That's something you won't find on any cycling shorts.

A review you might find of interest:

Tow things I don't like about these..

1. Off the bike I feel like I'm wearing diapers....

2. they tend to slip down and I have to pull them up. Maybe I got a size to big but it doesn't feel like it.

There not bad while riding but I still get the same pressure points....

There is no substitute for a custom seat I guess....

Update: Nothing has changed about my opinion of using these on the Tenere. Completely worthless to me on a Tenere.

However I recently purchased a DR650 which has an incredibly uncomfortable seat. I figure no one is going to buy a used pair of Moto Skiveez, so decided to try them on the DR. I believe I need to give them some credit for making the DR seat more tolerable. I've used them twice now on longer rides and I am definitely not as sore as before. Note sure how much credit goes to me adjusting to the new seat vs the moto skiveez, but things are improved.

Sooner or later I'll get around to riding the DR without the skiveez and see if they really make a difference. So far I'll say...maybe.

Dirt Dad, I was just referred to this thread. Although everyone's anatomy is slightly different, and everyone's expectations are not the same, we at Moto-Skiveez want our users to find value in our product. I will never claim that this product is the end all and be all of riding comfort and that by using it you will never need anything else. Nor will I claim that by using it you will never experience what I like to call "rider's butt fatigue."

My expectations are that customer's appreciate that I spent over two years attempting to design a product specific to the needs of the motorcyclist. From each of our three different pad designs, to the construction and design of our base short, we tried to engineer a product targeted for motorcycle riding. I also compromised nothing in the materials and construction.

Having said that, my hope for Moto-Skiveez users, is that they will be more content riding with them than without. And at the end of the day, I want them to be happy with the purchase. It would be great if everyone experienced absolute perfect performance from them with no irritation at all, (and we do have some testimonials of people that do think they perform exceptionally well) but I know that is unrealistic.

Please let me know if there is we can offer anything that may help with your dislike. Perhaps a different size or style? And just for added clarification to anyone that may want to know more about Moto-Skiveez, here is a link that I feel provides probably the best description and non biased evaluation of the product;
http://www.webbikeworld.com/r3/motorcycle-underwear/moto-skiveez-review/

I offer this because this review is from what I view as a very objective, non-biased source, WebBikeWorld.

toonika, nice to see your input on this thread. Obviously no one can add more history and information on the product than you.

Regardless of my personal experience with the product, your intent to provide an improved experience and the hard work that went into the effort has never been a question in my mind. I appreciate people like you that are working to provide us motorcyclist more options for our sport. Thanks for your efforts to make motorcycling better.

I've been meaning to get back to this thread for an update. I've now had an opportunity to ride the DR both with and without the Moto Skiveez on multiple occasions. I had hoped I was just getting tougher and adjusting to the DR's seat. No such luck. When I ride without the Moto Skiveez the seat gets annoying pretty fast. With the Moto Skiveez I've ridden up to 6 hours on the DR and not been bothered by the seat in a significant way.

So the jury is in for me. On the DR I consider the Moto Skiveez to be part of my riding gear if I am going out for any amount of time. I'm glad to have them for that bike. My Tenere opinion has not changed and the the skiveez will not be used on that bike in the future. To be fair, I've never been all that unhappy with my modified Tenere seat, and I tried to skiveez to see if they would somehow make a good situation even better. That didn't happen.

toonika, I'm glad your product is working for me on the DR. Without it I'm sure I'd be investing in a new seat sooner rather than later. If you are open to product improvement suggestions, please give some attention to the standing and walking experience with the skiveez. I find I am constantly taking some type of action to reduce the wedgie factor. I find it impossible to ignore and it does impact my attitude about the skiveez.

Thanks again for posting your information here. Unless my description here makes you think I have a size/style issue, I don't believe I need to take you up on your kind offer of a different size or style. Best of luck to you with your business.
