I had the Dakar on the S10 for a New England mixed surface ride in the fall
The tire is great off road.

BUT

Tire life is quite short. @ 2500 miles.
Not sure if the tire life would be any better with more off road use.

I've got a TKC 80 on now.

I am approaching 16000 km with E 07 dakar. Have a set of replacements waiting. I have opted twice for the dakar version, with the heavy bike and potential heavy load it carries the small extra cost is in my opinion worthwile for the extra ply. my two cents

are you sure you had E07's? sounds more like the mileage expected from E09's

I've used E09 Dakars in Africa and they were quite worn at 2500 miles. The E07 non Dakar version on my S10 have approx 7000 miles and will easily go 10000 miles

Life is short on both the dakar (4 ply stiffer side wall) and the e-07 mitas. (3 ply less stiff sidewall)
Twist hard and you will use the tire.
Twist hard on gravel and you will really use the tire.
I've gotten about 7500-8000 KM out of the rears (one a dakar, one a regual 50/50 mitas)

Great tire imo.

you do need to watch your tire pressure. Rear recommended is 28 psi cold

8000 km, that's I got with the K60 rear. At least the E-o7 will be cheaper,
well then, you're an animal with the throttle. Ride on brother!
you will not be disappointed.

Better grip in the wet, better grip in the mud and loose shit. Order away if you can track one down.
