Mirror Threads

I wanted to fit a set of Tenere mirrors to our GSA so purchased a set of these adapters.

The left-hand mirror fits perfectly but the right-hand one won't fit at all. Our S10 isn't here at the moment so I can't check it. Does the RH mirror have a reversed thread?

Well that explains it, thanks.

So all I need now is a converter from BMW thread (M10x1.5) to reversed M10x1.25. I wonder where I'll get one of those from.

this will work if you have room for an extender and then use a standard bolt in the appropriate BMW thread size.

Sorry but I'm a bit confused as to how that will work. It looked like that's designed for the Yamaha so the bolt will be M10x1.25 reversed as will the thread that the mirror bolts into.

What I think I need is an adapter that has a male M10x1.5 to go into the GS with a reversed female M10x1.25 to take the Tenere mirror.

Throw the bolt that comes with it away and get a 10 x 1.50 bolt for the Bemmer. I don't think I've ever seen an adapter to take the Yamaha left hand threads to right hand threads. :question:

Oh yes, I'm a prat for not reading Justbob's post properly.

I'm going to see if I can find an adapter (or have one made) as my first choice but this is a good fall back plan.
