Ok!
Yes I am a gear head when it come to camping stuff, I also am a frugal shopper.
Another piece of gear I have been using for years is the Mini Gas lanterns I had a Snow Peak GigaPower Lantern in the late 90's when the first came out, expensive little beast but well worth it.
I gave it away when I stopped back packing due to knees getting worn out.
Now that I Motorcycle camp I have come across these insanely inexpensive knock offs>>>

I have been using one for over eight years and has never failed me once and looks like a beat burnt hulk.
I have lots of lanterns Camping Gaz, Primus and Coleman but this little guy is the smallest of the bunch about the size of a Vienna Sausage can and puts out about 70 watts of light to fill the whole camp site and read by.

Any of you members use these as well?

The only drawback is good mantles are hard to get in any camp store these days (Apparently these lamps are now outlawed) and the Chines Mantles that come with this lamp are completely worthless but will work.

You can get good mantles Ebay or Amazon, Coleman Double-Tie Fuel Lantern Mantle #51 or American Mantle Double Tie Lantern Mantle.
