I don't know what color to get John. The dealer says I can have whichever color I want. I know black is faster, but the blue is pretty. :-\

Well now, you have been told all wrong. ::005:: The blue is not only pretty, but it is far faster than the black.. ::025::

Whichever one you get I'm sure you will be very happy. It is a great bike.
Have fun on your trip ::26::

Sure sorry to hear that, old son. I've never ridden one, but that Suzuki V-Strom 650 A Expedition is sure a nice looking motorsickel. All outfitted with panniers and adjustable windshield and such. Price isn't too bad, either, as motorsickels go. There's lot to choose from. Main thing is just get her on one and head north. She'd never fit on a KLR. Tall suckers. Good luck with it. R ::008::
I looked at one of these for the first time about a month ago. Not bad at all.

PLUS Suzuki is offering 0% financing for 60 months on ALL new bikes!!!

In any event, she is picking up her Super T tomorrow. Ordering farkles now. Got brake and clutch levers ordered, Givi crash bars obtained used from Firefight911 (since Altrider is sponsoring his charity ride for the Friends of the NICU, and his bike looks like an Altrider advertisement now), and rox risers.

Planning to call Jaxon tomorrow for lowering links and a tire, Twisted Throttle for the SW-Motech skid plate, and Jesse for side cases.

Once we get the bike we'll get the seat in to a local upholster for a good shave and cut down the rubber bumpers.

Hoping to be on the road to Whitehorse on, or close to our original plan... leaving mid-month.

I guess I forgot to mention here, yesterday she rode the Tiger 800 Roadie, the Tiger Explorer (who'd have thought she could handle that), the G 650 GS, and the factory lowered low seat R 1200 GS.

Results:

The 800 Roadie pogoed on her. The preload was full soft and they adjusted it to the middle of the range, but she had read they do that. Rear preload is the only suspension adjustment on that bike. She didn't take it back out, concluding she would need aftermarket suspension and did not have time to that before our trip.

The Explorer impressed her, but it didn't speak to her. The twitchy throttle that they are talking about on the Explorer board caused her to inadvertantly activate the traction control. Livable, but sounds like nearly everyone who rides that thing thinks they need to fix it with a re-flash. She felt the bike was more road oriented.

Of the G 650 GS she said, feels like my old BMW. She was not talking her RT, but rather her 1959 250 cc R 26 thumper. It was vibey. A fun bike, possibly a good dirt bike, but not a long distance cruiser.

She was quite smitten with the big R 1200 GS however. I thought it was a done deal. I was talking trading in my RT, towards it.

I really liked the lowered R1200GS, but was not happy about spending over $20K to get the bike and outfit it for the ride. Until I rode the Triumph Expedition (Explorer) I didn't think I could ride the ST without a low seat. I forgot that when I bought my R1200Rt it was toes only and I did fine. I really, really liked the ST and the price is significantly more affordable than the GS. I will take the ST on an extended test ride up North and see whether its a keeper. ::26::

So what's happened to Carmen ???
Did she get better? She didn't look that bad ..... quick squirt of WD40 and some duck tape ... she'd be fine. You can polish the other stuff out ::) No?

Maybe where you are... but Romney Cycles had one on the floor when we were there a few weeks ago.

Idaho Falls Action Motors and Rexburg Motorsports (not too far from SLC) have wee's in stock. Rexburg has one with Happy Trails panniers and Versys. Rexburg also has a blue S10.

Regarding "Carmen Caliente," she remains in infirmary on life-support. Sooner or later the insurance co. will get around to telling us if we are going to be pulling the plug, or performing surgery. The estimate came in, and I would have thought pulling the plug was a no-brainer, but the ins co. wants to have a look at her. Forks bent, rear sub-frame gone, pretty much all plastics, muffler, handle bars, etc. etc... The engine and frame are in sweet shape though!

Thanks for the leads on the Wee's guys. We tried various forms of searching but didn't turn any up. Idaho would have been close enough, for sure. But Sharon is pleased with her new blue S10. It followed her home, well, actually, she followed it home, this morning. I rode it since we need to get it lowered for her. Al Jesse just called her and it looks luggage (Odyssey 10" silver) will be in hand in time for her us to get out of dodge as planned. She has an appt with an upholster next week for the seat shave. Techspech grips shipped, Twisted throttle got the SW-Motech skid plate and tank bag ring out the door, we picked up supplies for the run-in service, and a number of other odds and ends for her electronics. Firefight911 got the Givi bars shipped, Just waiting for a call back from Jaxon on the lowering links and K60 tire. Oh, and her helmet was dinged in the wipe out. She found a screaming deal on a Shoei X11 for $59. That and the conversion stuff for extra-small are also in the pipeline. I think we are a go for a mid-June departure.
