Have Panniers, will travel!

My reply to the above post got me thinking (it occasionally happens)...I'll be driving to Minnesota on June 01 and be there for about a week (both in northern Minneapolis and 100 miles north up I-35. And possibly a trip up by Duluth). I'll be driving from Montana to there via I-94 so there is also potential for hand delivery if you pre-pay (because I don't have room to bring these home with me if you decide not to take them). That being said, this is a 1,000 mile drive and 17 hours in the car in one day, so I won't have time to wait around at an agreed upon location and won't have time to chat no matter how much I want to. Fact of a long road trip. But this would save someone an additional $100 so you'd pay the local pickup price of $1,100 so save $200+ off of what you'd pay most other sources.

Still available. One week to go before a trip from MT to MN where I can potentially save you $100+ shipping.

The problem is that I am in NJ...and the shipping is a deal breaker.

Fishcat, you're gonna have to pay shipping regardless. If it will sweeten the deal for you, I have a brand new set of "roof racks" that came with my Micatech Pilots. I have decided not to install them. You can have them if you'll just return the shipping cost to me once you get them. My panniers are the "vein" color ....... sort of a greyish. These are extremely well thought out and well made panniers. I'm on my second set. Lemme know. R ::008::

Somebody buy these! Micatech is on hiatus for at least a year, so no getting new ones for awhile, if at all. Bob may or may not resume production after the yearlong break.

must resist.....must resist

Are you coming to MN again any time soon?

If it aint a hunnert degrees over the 4th I am considering riding out to Billings to visit my recently relocated brother, if you plan to be around and if I ride out, I would at least ride out to Bozeman for a look see and a beer.

Anyone know if they are water tight?

I had them on my bike and they are a really tough case, plus they are very water tight. I can't really say enough about them.
Great cases, water tight, and side opening with a 4" well that runs up to the bottom of the door. They are easy to pack and you can tie another bag on the top of the case.

You must...not...resist. Ha. Hey bigbore4, I won't have the ability to bring the panniers to MN any time soon. I'll be flying in for a business trip, but I think the airlines would charge me more for "baggage charges" than if UPS shipped them!

We'll be around off and on the fourth of July week. Might camp and ride Friday or Saturday night, but nothing planned yet. Probably will let weather and temps dictate. I'll PM you to see if you are still planning on riding out. We can continue the conversation out of this thread.

Trying to set a record for the longest period between "For Sale" bumps...ha. Spring is here and I still have these available.

Also, I looked through the hardware when someone was going to buy only the panniers and not the racks so I could separate it all out, and I don't see any keys packaged with these. A little late for me to go back to Micatech, everything considered. They look like they are the common replaceable locks. Anyone know a cost effective way to replace them? Maybe someone that lost keys or wanted things keyed different and changed them out?
