I'm looking for metal head light guarded for my 2016 S10 but I'm struggling to find anything other than the Touratech one (I'm not convinced that will fit either) lots of Chinese ones on eBay but all state up to 2014, anyone have any ideas or recommendations? Looking for something I can get to the UK for around £50 or so.

At that price the only alternative in metal is to make your own.

If I were to get one it would be a plastic one, mounted with velcro, then use a better velcro.

If it fits 2014 it will also fit 2015 and 2016.

I ordered the Chinese Mad Hornet light protector that looks EXACTLY like the touratech one for half the cost. I believe it said up to 2014x but fit my 2015 just fine.

AltRider now offers metal and plastic/metal ones. Steep price, more than I paid for my oem Yamaha one back in '11. HERE

Cee Bailey makes a Lexan one for about $60. They mount with those little super-grip velcro pads. I've had 2 of these for my KLR's and found them to be quality products.

Puig has something also but it looks flat and rather ugly in my opinion.

I like the look of the OEM unit but can't find it in the US because it's not DOT approved (I couldn't care less).

If anyone has a non- USA source for the OEM, could you post it?

Thanks.

Ordered the one from ceebaily Monday, it arrived today, with shipping it was $69 , mounts with dual lock Velcro . I wanted something easily removable that's why I bought ceebaily , also bought ceebaily for my wing for the 2007 Alaska trip, even when clean they cutdown headlight brightness so when I get back from Alaska will most likely be removing them.
Kinda like the way the puig headlight guard mounts but they are nearly double the price.

AltRider has a nice metal one in Black or Silver. The cost is around 147.00 dollars. I have the Black one on my 14. Remember, you get what you pay for. I pay for quality and the way it fits. I wouldn't buy a cheap one.
Sometimes but not always. My Chinese headlight guard is virtually identical to the touratech. Sometimes you are just paying for the name.

There are plenty of times when you do get what you pay for, but not always. I'm a quality manager/lead on large industrial projects, so I've got a bit of an eye for quality. I certainly do find it more worthwhile in more complex accessories (lights, panniers, electronics, etc.)

the generic eBay knock off ones fit perfectly and are less than half the cost of the alternatives. I bought a Lexan one for my bike for $35 and it fits great too.

I agree with you on keeping an eye out on quality. Since you are a quality manager, you would be a go to on these boards. My only reservation with buying overseas is if there is a problem with returning something. Of course, Amazon and EBay are exceptions. I have had bad experiences in the past in that department. Also, if I can't physically inspect the product first, I wont buy it. I know Altrider has great customer service and quality parts.

I'm lucky in that I live 10 miles from Touratech UK so picking up bits is easy but I'll give the cheap eBay ones a go first, if they rust I can always sandblast and repaint them.

Very true. I picked up my first ST a couple months ago and have it about farkled to the max. I splurged on things like a nice rigid light bar and acd skid plate which I found worthwhile, but I did go with things like cheaper bar risers vs the Rox and of
Course the headlight guard.

Sometimes I've came out ahead going cheaper, however there's been some times where I got the shaft. Most recently my alpinestars mesh jacket I bought for $120 on Amazon. Fit was second to none (better than the $400 Klim I replaced it with) however when your main zipper breaks because they cheaped out, right before you're about to do a 250 mile ride with your wife, that's incredibly annoying. Definitely learned my lesson there. That jacket was only a month old.

Some of their products are OK, some of them are a huge waste of money!
