Man, I really don't know why I do stuff like this but I discovered the "Members" tab on this site and started looking at the post counts. I'm kind of a sports stats junkie also, so maybe this is part of the same syndrome. Anyway, here are some numbers from the Members list (all as of about 10 minutes ago):

Member post counts:

4000+ (2) ColoRider (huge lead with 4983 posts) and ~TABASCO~ (chasing with 4084 posts)
2000+ (11)
1000+ (38)
500+ (76)
100+ (290)
50+ (455)
10+ (1011)
1+ (2132)
0 (1761)

Total members: 3893

So almost half of the members (45%) have never posted, and only 7.5% have posted 100 times or more. Not sure what that says about this group, but it says something!

I probably have the most post with the least amount of useful information. There, that should be # 857. :-\

I started this thread just to boost my post count. If I get to 50 posts that'll put me in the top 500 all time and maybe I can shed my newbie tag. 8)

Forum's still relatively young compared to the more established ones. That, combined with a new[er] bike and you have the stats...

My $.02! YMMV

@snuffcityrider & Combo - BarkingLizard has you both beat on that score. He's the zen master of the 'simple hello' post. :D

So is this thread going to become the official Post Whore (PW) Thread? I've seen them on other forums - a place to post absolute uselessness just to run up your post count - what better topic to start one with than post counts. :)

In all seriousness this is the longest (two years this month) I've ever remained this active on a forum, and the first time I've ever busted 1000 posts anywhere (this will be #1112). To me it says a lot about the bike and this group: I belong on this bike, and belong here with this group - I like it!

And ColoRider hasn't posted much since he sold his Tenere early last year.

Funny you mentioned that, I was just starting to notice that over the past couple of weeks. I've been going into new member intro threads just to see if BarkingLizard's "simple hello" is there. :D

I will say the number of my posts was higher per day early on more than it has been lately. I was just asking myself last night how to post pics better here. I re-read Snakes tutorial.

All it means is that some people have more to say than others and many times it's a good thing. Sharing your technical knowledge or travel experience is really great.
I wish I had the time to ride out to Alaska or Colorado or even better taking a trip as great as Trevor's, but to see the posts and pictures is awesome. Thanks to all who share their experiences.
I don't have much to say and even less during riding season, but this board sure is entertaining and glad that I'm an official member (with an s10).

Thanks to all for keeping it going. ::008:: ;D ::003::

OK, you've thrown down the gauntlet and it's time for this recently registered member and previous long-time lurker to show you what "post" traumatic stress syndrome is all about. To that end I will now employ my patent-pending solution which should, within nanoseconds, surpass all of your combined post-counts (providing I've correctly understood Snakebitten's most excellent how-to guide.

Don't have many posts but I spend (too many) hours reading and learning from other members knowledge and experiences. Guess that makes me a parasite!! Wonder if the forum software tracks the time logged in as well as the number of posts?
BTW, I'll be picking up my first S10 this Friday, 2-14-14 in Denver. Snagged a white one but we're under a foot of snow from last weekend. Should be melting and sloppy by Friday!
As with any new kid in the house, the KLR is jealous!

I've got a lot of work to do to catch up with you.

There's one more for the count.
