Well, the weather was certainly madness, but the riding and the event.......awesome. Me and a buddy rode up to Tellico Plains, TN on March 26, arrived about noon, registered, got a free beenie from Dual Sport Touring, and got our tents set up. It was warm Thursday, but it rained all night and until about mid-morning on Friday. Saturday morning was 23 degrees and we rode in some snow! It was colder Sunday morning with a heavy frost....

We decided to ride the Cherokee Challenge - about 170 miles and mainly forest roads. We broke it up into two days, 1st page on Friday and 2nd page on Saturday. We had to take pics of certain points throughout the route, show the pics to the guys at the Twisted Throttle booth once we completed, so we were entered into a prize drawing.

Cool stuff showed up too!!!

Barrel Racing:

Found some snow too!

Fun N Games Saturday afternoon ::017::

All-wheel drive baby ::024::

This was supper Saturday night and it was awesome, some kinda shrimp creole with grits..

Sunday morning freezeeeeeee :'(

It was fun, can't wait 'til next year. Gonna bring some firewood next time ::013::

Wahoo.... Does look like fun... but damn cold! I hate the cold!

I am out riding my Super Teneré'!

Brick,

It was cold, especially Sunday morning. My toes were stinging, they were so cold. I've got to locate a quality sleeping bag. Maybe a Big Agnes....

we normally go to MMM but elected to skip it this year. Mickey hosts a great event and the riding is grand. Froze our butts off 2 years ago, hi was 25 and it snowed on the skyway. The next was warmer but it RAINED and RAINED and RAINED.

Not a lot of ST's there either trip, good to see you representing us.

I was there and i have to say the people were awesome. The generosity of the community and organizers left me speechless. My boots were soaked from a difficult creek crossing. I went looking for some newspaper to dry them and was offered the keys to the guys cabin where he had his boot dryers. Another person overheard our conversation and offered her bmw car so i wouldnt have to ride my bike with tennis shoes on. I thought they were joking, they were dead serious. Adventure riders, what a great community.

I wanted to go. (would have had to leave from Big Bend and head straight over to Tennessee)

I don't want to blame Combo and Fred, (like they would ME) but they wouldn't go with me.
If they would have agreed, I was coming.

NGA,
Going down with a group next week to explore around. Was the Cherokee Challenge route nice? Worth our time riding it?

Thanks!

rmunch44,

Yes the route was nice and worth the time. The 1st page was really wet on Friday, which slowed us down a bit. Additionally, there were a lot of bikes on it that day. I thought the second page was the better part by far, but you could do it all in one day.

Just watched the first 6 minute drone view.

That is CRAZY cool!!!!
Can't believe how steady it is. Is that because you mastered the flying skills?

Really awesome.

My Tenere went to paint shop today. So I'm thinking there will be no escaping your shenanigans. No excuses. Can't get out of it.
Hey, wait. I can't go off-road before the paint cures. Can't get it dirty. Yea, yea, that's the ticket!
