I have a Crampbuster on both of my bikes. I first used one when I rode from Phoenix back to Vegas a few years ago, and they have been part of my riding kit ever since.

My observation is that these throttle ear doohickeys are a love/hate thing. Some folks swear by 'em, I can't stand 'em.

Definitely give the Go Cruise a whirl if your primary mission is a throttle lock. It's only $20 or so and you can sell it for $17 the day you decide it is not for you. Heck, I'd probably buy it from you as I wouldn't mind having a couple - I tend to forget to transfer them between bikes.

I received and installed the Omni Cruise tonight and will know more tomorrow. I also have a CrampBuster that i occasionally use with mixed emotions.

The go cruise is a permanent fixture on my bike. I use it often on long rides.

That's the one I was looking at first but just saw the post on ADV about the Omni Cruise and like that it's billet aluminum. Costs twice as much though...

I used it a little bit the other day and after I got the tension correct it was very good. Tested the off throttle by riding into heavy traffic and it released easily. Gets a Plus rating from me.

I've got the Kaoko and it's 'meh'. It's too cumbersome to use on often, but I'll use it on a stretch of the slab where I can take my left hand to lock it in. After putting aftermarket heated grips on, even with adding washers to act as spacers, the original "smoothness" of turning it to lock isn't there anymore.

It's as obtrusive as a typical bar end weight, so it stays...

I use mine quite a lot, did not notice how much until I bought the S10 as it had been removed from the old bike and shoved in the toolbox, I kept going to use it just to find it ain't there.

Even on local runs I sometimes like to give the RH a break or after a couple of hours riding and having to hold on tight enough to stop the throttle closing I can start to get a bit numb, but just being able to take the RH off the bar for a few seconds now and again works well for me. On long runs when faced with a few hours of motorway it really earns its keep.

Also handy for reaching the buttons on the dash as for some reason Mr Yamaha put them on the throttle side ::010:: I do wonder if this is because they expect you to stop to change the display

Anyone using the Crampbuster or a similar products?

Looking to rest the palm once in a while, but don’t feel comfortable locking the throttle.
A note on 'throttle locks'... they don't stop you from closing the throttle, they just have enough tension to hold against the throttle cable. I like the Kaoko, don't have trouble setting it with the right hand. If you remember to wind it on a bit before really needing it, it's slick. Actually loved the Vista Cruise on my Royal. Worked fine for better than ten years, still on there now. Found myself reaching for it a few times on the Tenere.

I have a GoCruise that I bought for my wife. Installed it and she took a ride with it and doesn't like it, so it's just sitting in the box, essentially new. It was $20 new, I'll sell it for $15 shipped to your door in the lower 48. Even throw in a yellow Cat O-ring and you can try that too if you want. Anyone interested, PM me.

I have one on mine .... takes some time to adapt to it but once you've found the right position it's fine.

I just have a big fat O-ring that sits on my bar end. When I want to lock the throttle, I just roll it over between the throttle and the bar end.
Works like a charm, just enough resistance to hold it, but still lets me move the throttle if needed.
