Just wanted to share the product update that Madstad has designed into the Yamaha Super Tenere 2014 +.

First they have redesigned the knob bracket tightening system for those, (like me), that have barn door size windscreens and what to ensure the windscreen will not shift during para legal interstate speed wind forces. They have provided small channels in the bracket to increase the holding force. So you do not have to have massive arm strength to lock down the screen position. While most Tenere riders may not have much benefit from the over kill these post lock channels offer, it is great to know Madstad is always looking to make there system better. I have ridden at high speed with 15 - 20 miles wind gusts and no movement in bracket / windscreen.

Secondly they have made a set of bracket side support arms that attach between the Madstad GPS cross bar and the Yamaha Winglet screw holes. The Side Support Bracket is about $15 + shipping and you must call Madstad to order them as they are not yet on the website. I installed them and the results are that my Zumo GPS does not vibrate as much as on the OEM cross brace. Also the side brackets also reduct all windscreen movement during wind gusts.

While I have only done limited riding with the new Posilock Madstad bracket and Madstad side support braces .... they seem to offer me value for my riding (High speed interstate, Large Windscreen for a 6'3" rider and using a GPS mounted on the cross bar.

If you are interested the guy I worked with is on the ball and knows the Yamaha Gen I and Gen II S10 bikes and what they need.

I just ordered a set and was charged $30 plus shipping, so I guess the price has gone up.

I have a Madstad bracket on my Gen1 S10. I manufactured a pair of braces that anchor to the TWO holes of the side wind deflectors (got the idea from another forum member). This gives me more peace of mind as fatigue on the plastic side cover is distributed over a larger area.

Harry, The price did not include tax and shipping. I was charged 29.95 plus $15 Shipping to Idaho. My total was $44.40. I sent Madstad support an email to see if there was a mistake. I like the price you recieved much better then the one I recieved. Hopefully it was just a mistake.

I may have been mistaken on the price. The side bracket kit I got has two new rubber nuts, new cross bar screws and lock washers, new lower screws with a plastic washer.

At the time when I ordered the side brackets I had also ordered two complete new sets of windscreen rubber nuts with T bar screw heads and a few other odds and ends to completely refresh my Madstad bracket. I had brought the bracket about 2 years ago during a visit to the Madstad design / factory.

I recently hacked some of those together from $4.00 worth of Home Depot aluminum. They look horrible but worked great on a long ride last weekend. I don't have the tools to make them look better other than a file and a can of spray paint. Maybe I'll figure something out...or buy these Madstad supports.

Edit: I don't know why my pictures turn sideways when I post here. Sorry about that.

Thanks ..... sorry for the error. Prices is $29.95. Plus tax and shipping.

Kit is complete with 2 new rubber expansion nuts, 2 new cross bar screws and lock washers, 2 new lower screws with plastic washers and a one page instruction sheet.

The side support bar is laser cut Aluminum with a black coating.

The smaller (shorter) section of the support arm bend goes to the top (Cross Bar)

The longer bend section goes outward and is attached to the front winglet hole.

Kit is high quality to my eye.

If you are already a madstad customer in their order data base there may be a 10% discount.

I'm assuming you use a phone for your pictures? Since they can rotate, there is metadata that indicates camera orientation. Some websites, ours included, have a tendency to look at that metadata when placing the picture, which is why they end up sideways. Here is a link to an article with a more detailed explanation: https://www.howtogeek.com/254830/why-your-photos-dont-always-appear-correctly-rotated/

Side Support Instruction Sheet ...

Notes On My Install

1. I removed both winglets to ease install and to better check alignment of support to winglet holes.

2. I installed the cross bar side (Top of the side support) first and snugged it down to better gauge alignment with the lower winglet screw hole

3. I found that to improve the alignment of the winglet hole to the lower side support hole ....

....I used channel lock pliers (with paper over the jaws to prevent scratching the side support coating) to gently twist the side support into final position.

(Your bike my differ as both the Madstad bracket and Yamaha tolerances will differ bike to bike)
