Wow, just over a year ago since I did this mod! I have beat the snot out of my Tenere off road and the mod has worked perfect! Nothing broken, cracked, torn, or worn out.

This works pretty well. A little movement on rough road. Pavement is good though.

Wow howier! You sure did load up the bar! I like your mod the best since you made the support smaller by mounting the bar in a new hole in the bracket and you painted them black :). It is good to know that you have had success.

After thinking about the problem more, I think the best solution is to use the stock well nuts as designed and add the support bars. The stock windscreen well nuts should help dampen shock to the plastic transferred by the support bars. Real world experience is always the best. If your mod supports all that you have mounted then it is more than adequate for me! Thanks for the pics and ideas.

I've had a Garmin 550, and now a 530LM mounted on the Madstade cross bar for over 2 years and 25k miles with no issues. I don't understand why some folks are reporting excessive vibration. What's up with that?

I've been running a Garmin Zumo 350 on the Madstad bar for over two years and 25K miles, no issue here.
I'm using a ball mount and a short, 2.5", arm. I can see where a longer arm may tend to increase the affect of any vibration and could be a problem...

OK, I gotta' ask...

Which is it? A Garmin 550, a 530LM(a what?), or a 350? And why the two posts about exactly the same thing? What's up with *THAT*? :-\

First the spelling and grammar errors all over two forums, and now 2 almost identical posts just 5 minutes apart? Is this a Florida retiree thing? ::025::

I'm beginning to see why you need that gear indicator and those self-canceling turn signals so desperately... :))

You two need to have a duel, or get your own forum, or get a divorce lawyer, or ...

Hey, I got no problem with a duel... Sabres, pistols, knives, or Super Tenere's on a curvy road! I'm game! ::012::

As for your divorce comment... I think you're confused. Paul/Big Blu/Roadscum is currently courting some guy named radbrad511 over on ADVrider - http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=24417682&postcount=23530

What is it between you two, anyway? Have you ever met, or is this just an internet romance? ::025::

Seriously, Dallara - you should chill on the spelling/grammar slams and keep it on topic. As we all know, you have more than enough cred on the technical/experience front and really don't need to get petty like that. It's amusing as long as there's a healthy back and forth (e.g., you and Pluric on the other forum), but this fight seems pretty one-sided since Big-Blu chooses not to engage.

You must have missed a few threads... Big Blu does "engage", and quite a bit, both here and on ADVrider., though all too often he gets pretty flustered and starts sputtering and puffing. Just check the BMW threads here, or some of his feckless witherings over on the two big Super Tenere threads on ADVrider.

That said, don't you wonder a bit about somebody who posts what amounts to the same exact post twice in 5 minutes. ;)

I mean really. You should see how you two look to everyone else.

I've got them both on ignore on ADV but couldn't figure out how to do it here.
