From there we head back to Fredericksburg and I spot the c47 so I take a look . Still has its engines . Can’t imagine jumping out of the door on DDay but some did . Heroes one and all .

And we drove by the Nimitz pacific war museum in Fredericksburg. World class museum. Doesn’t look like it can have what it has inside, if nothing else in Fredericksburg interest you this should. The one quick photo is of an American submarine surfacing out of the ground in front of the museum, awesome. Though this photo because of traffic does not do it justice

Inside the museum is a Japanese midget sub used at Pearl Harbor, Val dive bomber, b 25 bomber , f4f wildcat fighter , and tons of other things . Allow 4 plus hours to enjoy it all . And no picture but bought a basket of hill country peaches, world class for sure .

Robert , you should come back down and check out the museum , it is an amazing job they did putting this place together ... because of the virus crap you have to make an appointment (reservation) to get in . everything done on line. and yep lots of tourist . and in normal times they have a place down the street where they do a ww2 out door battle reenactment on the weekends )may be on hold because of virus. damn virus.

New MX track today, It was really fun. Might have been 75 riders.
Rode 1.7 hours of motos Only one bike passed me out there, a YZ250 2stroke. Until my last moto I was racing with a friend [he also rides a Super Tenere] and he got me on a table top that I kind of messed up on the approach, Then he couldn't make a corner and went right over the bars head first into a track side swamp. It was really funny!

free tracks to ride on is a very cool thing and pretty rare . I actually started the X yesterday . this morning it is 69 degrees , a hint of fall , this afternoon 100 , summer not done . plan on a kayak day this weekend . my brand new Tenere is in the shop with a dash failure (warranty fix ) they call it a meter . never had a failure on a Yamaha before.

And you know Terry that 450X is nothing to turn the nose at. That is a fantastic bike. Very reliable, great suspension and hauls the mail. I have owned both the XR 600R and 650R. The 450X is way ahead of those bikes in a solid trail machine and all purpose bike that can do a lot of different types of riding.

OTOH, even to this day there are very few bikes that can match a 650R in the desert with the right pilot aboard. Problem with the 650R is it's a single purpose machine meant for going eye watering fast for long stretches.

I agree with your view on the X . my skill level of growth is not improving much as my time to ride has diminished so drastically the last 6 months . but fall is coming .
