Anyone care to comment on the merit of this -

I want an adapter which would allow my MSR campstove to use the cheap ol' propane in the big 16oz bottles instead of these high dollar 7oz things made for backpackers.

I viewed an online camp stove demo where a guy had just such an adapter. ::026:: Someone mentioned it, asked where to get one, the guy (from across the pond) would not say where he got it. ::010:: His adapter took center stage in my mind.

Anyone else find something like this usefull??

TIA - Mike

Karson knows everything. He's like John Travolta in Phenomenon. :)
(without the brain tumor, of course)

Crazy thing is, I've been walking around pissed off for years thinking about that adapter in the demo. I grimaced every time I bought one of those puny gas canisters. I camp a lot, use lots of those canisters.

Now I'll know the meaning of " happy camper". ::012::

Thanks Guys.

Thanks man. My life is now complete.

Why did it take me so long to ask?

See ya - Mike
'Cuz I've got one! Not that I use it much, but at least it's in the camping arsenal.

My update - Still no luck ::010::.

The reason the adapters will not move to your "shopping cart" is because they're out of stock.

The manufacturer is Korean and is undergoing some kind of re-structuring in USA. The vendor at the link Karson so kindly furnished said they would be back in stock later in March - he thought. I'm determined to have one of these so I'll wait. I've searched high and low for another vendor and haven't found any except a couple on ebay.

On e-bay, I found you can order them from somewhere in Asia. There's a slick looking black one as well.

Also searched craigslist and found one for sale at the base in Lawton Oklahoma. Just my luck the seller was due to ship out this coming week and didn't have an active bank account to send money to.

Waiting.

Ramseybella - What is it about the larger LP canister that keeps you from using it with your stove? I have an MSR and a Brunton stove that would allow me to use an LP canister - I think.

I noticed those black adapters - that ebay seller ships from Korea. Is that where you bought yours?

It's heavy and bulky I can do lots on a camp fire and aluminum foil, if I was staying for a week at one place I would use one and I would buy it at my location..
Most of the small cooking I do is with a small stove and I use a Mini Gas lantern for at night this is all due to the fact I am a big guy and most of the room I take up is for tent, Sleeping bag and cloths and all of this is big.
Not that I don't like using one I just still have a backpacking mentality as much as I can on a motorcycle (Less is Best).
I also refill my canisters as well..
