Allow me to brag just a little. The student team I am working with at Ohio State set an East Coast Timing Association record in the standing mile at 144+ MPH for an electric motorcycle. We broke the previous record we set yesterday of 131MPH. It was a fun weekend!

A big congrats on the new record ::012::

It's like the dirty thirties all over again but the 30's wasn't as electric. ::)

When do you think you can get the single charge distance records happening. That would be the next big thing. ::008::

::015::Graham,
Hard to say. Currently we are focused on TTxGP and IoM. So far the " big events" are more performance orientened not mileage. My guess is this will evolve as the tech improves and there is more interest in practical results. Right now we are playing to the big headline news stuff trying to let folks know what is going on. And all of the vevenues open to us are performance based. Maybe as time goes by the parameters will expand to encompass real-world results.

I swear I had an electric motorcycle go past me in the Rocky Mountain National Park in 2009. I was on a month long bicycle tour at the time. All I heard was tires buzzing on the road surface as it went past me up hill. It was spooky quiet. Whatever it was it was sweet. I've always wondered what it would be like to ride a motorcycle that quiet. ::012::

What kind of sounds do they make??

A little electric motor whine, tire and chain noise, that's it. Kinda spooky since we are all used to the music from our ICE bikes. On another note, I heard that some countries are thinking of requiring EVs to generate "noise" so folks with vision issues can hear them coming.
