I pulled the S10 out of the garage, the air temp gauge says 56. 2 miles down the road, it says "Lo". At what temp does this stop reading the outside air temp? The K16GTL, FJR, truck and 4Runner all said 8.

It reads "Lo" because it is coolant temp mode. At about 110-deg F, it starts reading actual coolant temp. AFAIK, if you put it in air temp mode (which actually reads airbox intake temp), it will always show an actual temp, not "Lo".

It was air temp. Even if it wasn't air temp, that means the thermostat is bad.

If you're sure you're staying in air temp mode, does sound like the intake air sensor is dropping off off-scale low. I would think the bike might run differently when this happens.

Wasn't aware there was a "Lo" floor to the air temp reading. Hope I never have to see it!

It was 21 deg this morning, so I didn't get to verify. It took 2 miles to adjust to the colder temp though.
