In the interest of full disclosure, I am a member of a local trail advocacy organization here in Colorado Springs.
For those of you who ride in CA or others interested in trail advocacy efforts, you might have a look at the thread I started in the "Tread Lightly" section of AdvRider website. Legislation has been submitted to prohibit National Monument designations that are not supported by local communities. Senator Feinstein is trying to get the President to designate 1 million acres in CA as a National Monument in spite of local opposition.
