That is the best deal, for a new Tenere, I have heard of.
I would bet that the dealer referred to in this post is FunMart in Moline, IL. I bought my ST from them in April 2012 for $12K. I had a very good experiene with the dealer and would recommend them to anyone interested in the ST. About a month ago they had a black ST on the showroom floor sitting next to several nice looking KTM 990's. I think they have sold at least three ST's in the past year (including mine).

I came to the Yamaha ST from a 2007 Honda ST1300. I really like my ST1300, but I don't regret making the switch. I think the fun factor is higher IMHO with the Yamaha Super Tenere.
Good luck!

Yes, that was FunMart. Our delaer, Niehaus Cycles has a good relationship with them and even got a few S10's from FunMart when they needed more. Niehaus sold 10 new S10's plus one used one that belonged to the Yamaha sales rep. Their only 2 wheel model that sold more was the Gold Wings.

Thanks for all the welcomes and advice, guys! That was me that got the lone bid on eBay for that bike. I'm still working out the financing end of things, but I'm hopeful to pick it up next weekend.

Congrats on the awesome deal, I'm also in the market and looking. I may nave to go to WI for a deal, there are a few dealers in IL asking 12,7 - 12,9. I wonder if they'll go lower? Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any good deals in central MO.

Well, finally brought her home today. What better way to start in the adventure touring world than to bring home a bike in the remnants of a hurricane? :D I opted against riding it home (mostly slab) and took the family along to see my parents. Looking forward to putting a few miles on as I've got about 5 yards on it so far (riding up the ramp). Thanks again to all for the great advice!

Congratulations on the Super Tenere and deciding to take your family to visit with parents. It is a good day for you.

Tenere's don't care if it rains ::001::

Still pretty overcast here today, but I took it for a little swing around the neighborhood. First impressions, abundant power and very smooth delivery. The Sport mode is a very dramatic difference from the Touring mode. I forgot just how much more nimble a bike like this is, and I can turn on a dime again. Most importantly, my wife thought the seat was pretty comfortable (though a longer ride is obviously needed) and the little man approves as well!
