Looks like both sites claim to have one each in stock and they are separate stock numbers. I didn't spot a VIEW OFFERS button, but it's a pretty busy website graphically.
Yeah, the bike at Ride Now Georgetown is on hold with a deposit but they are getting another one in on Friday. As I was told by the sales manager this morning.

Yeah, got a quote from them today through my BMW sales guy who works there. Their destination fee was insane at $1196 but the BMW sales guy said everything is negotiable so don't hesitate to say something. I asked to see numbers with my RT trade ($11500) and $3500 cash down. They are running those numbers for me. I still have not ridden the bike yet so plan to go down there on Sat with the intention to test ride and then buy.
It's "negotiable" if they will negotiate, something these guys aren't known for. When I bought my Yamaha from the small town dealer in Henrietta (now closed), I paid only the selling price plus TTL. No shipping, no setup, no miscellaneous handling fees. They even knocked off $100 because they didn't have the color I wanted. They wanted to sell me a bike. Of course, the negotiation was much easier as I didn't have a trade to factor in that always obscures the true deal.

Good luck, you're getting a great bike.

Are those numbers what they're offering? If so, that's not too bad for a brand new one. That's not even MSRP. And yeah, it's probably a good thing to test ride it. There may be some weird obscure thing that you don't like. I never tested mine. It was a true sign, then ride.

The trade quote of $11500 was from end of May when I was looking at a Triumph Tiger 1200 that they had on the showroom floor. I ended up passing on that bike as when requesting servicing costs, they were worse than my RT and was not looking for worse :)

When I contacted my BMW sales guy, he said they still have that trade quote from May as long as I've not put too much more miles on it or had it damaged. I told him I'd only ridden about 1100 miles since then and bike is still in same condition as May. That is how I knew about the trade value. He told me that their transportation cost is $495 for destination and $375 for freight. So they were trying to add another $378 which I'm gong to push back on. Their Assembly Fee was $688, which I also think is high. Their final fee is DMV/Registration at $249 which is not terrible. So, I'm going to try and get all fees in for $1400 or a savings of $686 on the fees side. We'll see how much they budge.

I'm late to the conversation but I've got 160K on my '18 S10 and have had 'almost' zero issues. I did buy an aftermarked riders seat, pillion seat is stock, and I had CC problems. We ended up replacing the front brake switch twice and the rear brake switch once. On one of those switches I was on a trip and the dealer shipped the switch to me so I could replace it quicker - which was nice of them. In the 160 K plus miles I've had the bike it has also had the "dead starter switch" problem - 3 or 4 times....I can't remember exactly. Each time has been on a trip and is disconcerting to say the least! Each time, after letting the bike sit for a few minutes she will fire right up like nothing ever happened. Weird, but so far not a serious problem.

Thanks for the info. I had the CC issue on my 2016 FJR. I believe, based on comments from others on here, the CC issue has been resolved with a different brake switch. Your second problem sounds like what I've been going through since last Dec with my R1250RT. Hopefully this has been resolved as well since the 2018 model?

You have put your bike to good use with 160K miles on it. With that mileage, I assume you do your own maintenance?

What the heck is "destination " when they are charging $688 to build plus a mysterious $378. Assuming the DMV/Registration is the TTL part, there's obviously not much one can do with that. Since the sales tax is the only variable, based on the trade difference, I've always wondered why a dealer can't put an honest, up front price tag on a bike that includes all of their add-on costs so honest comparisons among dealers can be done without all of the trickery, or maybe they don't want that. As I mentioned before, I bought my first modern era Yamaha in 2017 from a small town dealership that charged me a deeply discounted MSRP plus TTL. My out the door price was $3k under the Yamaha MSRP tag, and I left feeling pretty damn good with my new bike on my trailer.

Yup, bike dealers in most cases are no better than car dealers, they try to gouge customers as much as possible. I've experienced a few dealers who have been honest, no BS or games but they are a minority. I did reach out to a small town dealer who had one ST1200 but they came in very low on my BMW trade so had to pass. They offered me $7500 while my local dealer has offered me $11500 which is a VERY big difference and one I cannot walk away from.

Different subject, has anyone here tried to convert their regular incandescent headlights to LED's? I've discovered this kit but was wondering what others have used? https://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com/-led-headlight-conversion-kit-yamaha-super-tenere-xt1200z.html

I’ve put LEDs in from LEDPerf which ships from France- but is still cheaper & better than what I can get in Australia for that price.

They’re not as bright as I’d like but the spotties I put on give me plenty of warning when Roos & possum’s & hares wander out on the road.

Hares are the worst because they turn & run with you to follow the headlights when you have halogen bulbs. They don’t do it when running LEDs.

I finally pulled the trigger! I am now one of you ST1200 owners :)

Funny story, sort of. So I rode down to Austin to Ride Now Austin. I see the BMW guy I know and he comes up to me and say I have bad news. He says when I came in this morning I could not find your bike and was told they sold it last night. Needless to say, I was irritated. I said it would have been nice to be told this before I rode 35 minutes into Austin. He said he didn't know until this morning. So I hopped on my BMW and ride 40 minutes North to Ride Now Georgetown. I get there and the sales guy says I have the bike ready for you to test ride. I had to follow the sales guy and the ride was only about ten minutes on city streets, was hoping to also do some highway riding. Anyway, I loved the bike but it is so different from my RT. I'm sure in a few weeks of riding everything will feel normal like my BMW does now.

So we go sit down and the sales manager joins me and we start talking numbers. They took $600 off MSRP of the bike but then when going through fees I see $2080 added at the bottom. So I was like what is that substantial charge for? He says its a Ride Now protection package which include 4 years of battery, tire and wheel protection. I said I have zero need for that and $2080 in not a small sum of money. He says it comes with all bikes. I said to put it simply, I don't want it. It is a lot of money and I see no value in it for me. I don't mind paying extra for things I see value in, like extended warranty but this, I don't want. So he says he doesn't think he can remove it, I said then I guess I won't be buying the bike. As I'm saying this, I remember there are no other ST1200 around lol. He says he'll be back. He comes back and says he is going to remove that protection package charge but he has to also remove the $600 discount on the bike. So I said well that is disappointing. So I said how about we split the $600 down the middle and you still give me $300 off the bike. So he agrees and everything else was what is was and figured I'd shot down their protection plan and gotten $300 off the bike so wasn't going to have much more leverage on a bike there were none of within 250 miles. So I signed all the paperwork and the bike was mine.

I brought a few accessories I wanted them to install before I took delivery. They will be adding those for me and the bike will be ready by Weds for pick up. I asked them to add a Nautilus horn, Skene LED strip brake light(flashes when braking then goes solid)/turn signal and finally a fuse block for extra accessories to come like a Nav. I was pleasantly surprised to see the labor rate at $82/hr which compared to my local BMW dealer's labor rate of $155/hr was great. Now I play the waiting game but I'm excited about the purchase.

Here is a pic of her after my test ride.

First of all, congratulations. It won't be long until you Beemer is nothing but a distant memory.

Protection Package. Horseshit. Even without a tender, the OE AGM will last 4 years, especially in Texas where we don't get very cold. And I'll bet there some super fine print for the tires and wheels absolving them from replacement.

My wife got her MX5 and they tried the 3-year maintenance pkg trick. Said no. Later I was looking at the required maintenance. Other than oil changes, there is no other maintenance for three years. And two years of oil changes are free.

You did the right thing in fighting that charge as I’ve seen this in various forms over the years. It’s nothing more than an insurance policy that the dealer has a package for where they get a kickback from the insurer. They say it “can’t” be removed because they miss out on their kickback.

A simple line to them is that you came to them to buy a bike and nothing else. If they want to be an insurance company, then they should get out of bikes.

Welcome to the herd. Sorry you had to play so many dealership games to get here. Protection package, that's just another $2K of pure dealer profit. And the $600 discount disappears if you don't take the protection package, what's the linkage there? What an absolute crock! Enjoy that good looking ride.

Agree with all of you, the protection package protects their profit and makes cash fly out of my bank account :) I did buy the 3 additional years of extended warranty. They initially asked for $2400 and I ended up getting it for $1700. That was the only other thing I bought from them, other than the bike. I've been looking at GIVI luggage and Ride Now's distributor is a Givi dealer so they will get me some numbers on Monday. Only other immediate thing, is the Givi engine guard. I like that its not too big but read lots of great reviews on these and they were among the cheapest for the ST1200 at $264.

They still made a killing on the YES warranty. An earlier Forum post from February 2023 showed this price anoither dealer: "$470, 4-years, Big Pine Sports in Utah." Anything for a buck. The YES warranty doesn't have to be purchaswed from the original bike dealer, you can often buy through anther dealer at a better price, but as long as you're happy. After my initial experience with RideNow Austin that ended with an aborted sale when they changed the deal (also substantially incteased and this was before they dreamed up the Protection Package), I don't even like to visit them for parts. The good news is the Super T doesn't often need any, and thher is always Partzilla when it does.

Congrats Fleuger! I am on my second S10, 2023 this time. Had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with RideNow as well. They actually used to be impossible to deal with, but it has improved a bit. I am in the Austin area as well. Holler if you want to hit the hill country to break her in.
