Guys,

New to the site. I am looking for a Good (will last the life of bike) set of pannier racks. I have almost decided on the HT SU racks but really don't like the look with out bags. Any one have thoughts on any other brands? My plan is to get a set of the Wolfman Rocky Mts with the option later down the road to hard bags. HT, Touratech, etc. Thanks

If you're worried about the look of the racks when the bags are not attached, Hepco & Becker have a quick detach 'lock-it' system, where you have a couple of quarter turn fasteners that allow the rack to come on and off as you please. All that would remain is a few small mounting brackets that the racks connect to.

They may look strange to some, but the HT racks are very robust. I have them on a DR650, and they will take a hit like no other. HT racks have an extra mounting point for more rigidity too. I don't care for their hockey puck fasteners for hard bags, take up too much room inside. So I usually bolt my bags on (bolts are included in the kit), since the bags lock anyway. And yes, Wolfman products do fit with those racks, I have seen noted that they don't, not true.
