I'd love to get to another rally, but September and October tend to be busy for me (and being freelance, its hard to say no to work!).

Absolutely! I'm in! I've ridden some of that area, & the scenery is fantastic. In September the heat'll be off some, & tourist traffic will be done for the year. The hard-surface roads are twisty & fun, & I found some super desert tracks. Let's do it!

On your way to everywhere, , Iowa
I'm always ready for Utah
I'll probably head that way with some guys this Oct.
I might need to check out that Torrey area this year.

Wife said were going so looks like it's a go. ::008::
Snake said he has been asking the wrong person all this time if I can go play. ::025::

Sounds Good to me...........great riding in that area and adding Arkansas again for this year is perfect. ::015::

I'm interested for sure. Keeping fingers crossed that it isn't a weekend when I have my girls.

I know. I witnessed it myself in person yesterday.

She said "Utah? Mmmm I love Utah"

I then looked at Combo and smiled.
Now I get it!
One less life mystery.

Looks like there is plenty of interest to go forward with this Rally. So my next questions would be

1. Do you think a Tenere specific Rally would be the best? Or an any bike Rally?

2. Would you want to do only road or only dirt riding or a mix? Utah has some great slab for seeing the national parks. As well as some nice back country dirt roads.

I would be interested IF for some reason I do NOT do Alaska next year. But I am not a camper, at least not yet (getting ready for Alaska my change that) so is there any motel option?

Or I may be able to borrow a toy hauler but I have never trailered a bike when it was just me going and that just seems wrong. Heck driving a cage can be dangerous. So boring I could fall asleep, (but if pulling a toy hauler at least the bed is just 20 feet behind me!)

I agree. I'll keep it Tenere specific and a mix of dirt and road with options of Road only rides for people that don't want to play in the dirt.

You can't go wrong in Southern Utah, and Torrey is in the middle of everywhere. September is a good bet weather-wise, and being a one-day hop, I can't say no - I'm in. I would love to do Moki Dugway and Valley of the Gods.

An overnight run to Mexican Hat? Nice relaxed run. Almost 400 to and from. I'll go. Missed that and the Burr in '12. If the ferry is running, an awesome 200 miles to Mexican Hat.

After reading Combo's response I handed the laptop to my wife and got the same response as he did. ::015:: Does this being a bike specific rally mean I have to leave Granmaw's NC700 in the toy hauler? :'(

Wow. Well according to the response on this I need to make this happen. Looks like 20 plus Tenere's for sure interested in a Rally. Trying to figure out if I want to base it out of Zion Ponderosa campground or Torrey. I've ridden through Torrey a few times but not real familiar with what routes I would want to do up that way besides Mokee Dugway. That would be sweet though. I know if we stayed at Zion we could do Zion NP, Bryce, Cedar Breaks, North Rim of Grand Canyon and Toroweep. All great scenic rides and the Zion Ponderosa campground is super nice. They have cabins you can rent, Rv hookups, tent spots, pool, hot tubs showers etc. and tent camping is cheap. I think I paid $11 per night last summer with pool, hot tubs a,d showers included. There is also a diner on site.

Not sure what Torrey has to offer but not against looking into it. I'm just not as familiar with that area.

Also I see a lot of you would be coming from out of state so how many days would the Rally need to be to make it worth your time?

Trying to get all my ducks in a row to make this a good event that y'all will want yo keep coming back for.

I'd come even if it was a day. But I'd probably prefer to arrive on a Thurs PM, and leave Sunday AM.. so basically two days of riding while in Utah.
