Not the prettiest but these work pretty good. I quite often do 3hr+ rides in the pi**ing rain and these make a big difference to keeping my feet dry. They're made out of builders "rubble matt" which can be bought at B&Q. Fairly cheap and its easy to bend/cut/shape.
This bike is my workhorse so I dont really care about how it looks. More concerned about function. One day though, from the same material I will try to fashion some that have a slightly prettier shape.

French police TDM 900's have OEM fairing lowers, maybe they have something for their XTZ's as well? I recall though, that the part # for the french lowers was a "non-existing" part # when I tried to source a pair for my TDM some years back.

I was about ready to laugh. Until I saw where these are being used. All you riders in the UK are super tough!! Brilliant idea for constant rain.

Haha ....you're right Chris. I've even thought about wearing a scuba diving suit at times. Trust me, after over 300,000 bike miles in my life and trying almost every piece of clothing I can say that EVERYTHING leaks!! Some of the good stuff (Goretex) can last about 1hr of heavy rain on a uk motorway but after 1hr everything leaks. Daytona bokts Dainese goretex clothing...everything..Ive tried the lot!!

I'll have a look for rubble matt to make handguard extensions for the top of the handguard, I've done the bottom already as I found the wind was cold whipping up under the handguard and made my finger tips and thumb cold.
