I'm thinking about installing a screen protector on my 2014 LCD display. I'm a bit concerned about how it would stand up to many hours in the hot sun. I don't want to put something on there only to end up marring it with some melted, gooey plastic from an iPad screen protector. Any thoughts or experience?

If your display gets hot enough to melt a screen protector, I think you'd have other issues. Go for it.

I've been thinking of doing the same, but more to reduce the glare. Never used a glare screen for anything and the ones I have seen in the past darken the screen so it's hard to see. I believe they can withstand high temperatures, but have no experience with them. Interested in feedback on both fronts.

I have always understood that these are a bit of a waste of time. If you are really that worried, then there are some flexible anti glare hoods arounds that I think can be dropped down over the screen when parked to keep the sun off.

However I can't imagine Nick Sanders ever worried about this on his 50k jaunt & Yamaha have a bit of desert experience behind them too........ ::022::
So why bother....... ::021::
